Juan Montoya will look to have a better outcome this time around at Michigan.

Where's Juan? Michigan

Juan Montoya travels to Michigan this weekend for the 3M Performance 400 on Sunday. But without question, it's difficult to divert the focus from last week's clash at Watkins Glen.

Montoya, trying to sweep the road-course races this year in the Cup Series, was caught up in a Lap 73 crash that ruined his day. He was hit from behind by Martin Truex Jr. heading into Turn 1. The contact got Montoya loose, and he slammed into Kevin Harvick, collecting Jeff Burton along the way.

After the crash, Montoya and Harvick had words about what happened.

"I went to Kevin and said, 'It wasn't my fault. I got hit from behind,'" Montoya said. "He started shouting and grabbing me and I don't appreciate that. If it was my fault I would've gone and said, 'It was my fault.'

Harvick apparently didn't know Montoya had been hit from behind before the Colombian got into him, but still afterwards, that really didn't matter to him.

"My interpretation is you just got run over," Harvick said. "I guess the No. 1 [Truex] ran over the No. 42. It just all goes up in smoke because some people get impatient."

The conversation between the two drivers got heated, but Montoya said nothing physical would have come of it.

"I wouldn't fight, I don't fight," he said.

Now the fight turns to Michigan, where Montoya blew a tire 67 laps in and finished 43rd in the June race. But it's important to note that Montoya is experienced at the 2-mile oval, having won a CART race for Chip Ganassi there in 2000.
