Skinner, Benson to share driving No. 36 for BDR

HIGH POINT, N.C. -- Bill Davis Racing on Monday said Mike Skinner and Johnny Benson will share driving duties of the No. 36 Toyota for the remaining four events on the Nextel Cup schedule.

Jeremy Mayfield, who qualified the No. 36 car for 13 of 32 races, signed with Haas CNC to drive the No. 66 Chevrolet.

"We wish Jeremy Mayfield the best of luck on his future endeavors," team owner Bill Davis said. "We appreciate the job he did for us this season and are glad he and [wife] Shana were a part of the Bill Davis Racing family.

"Jeremy is a very talented racecar driver and we all wish him nothing but success with Haas CNC Racing.

Skinner, who currently leads the Craftsman Truck Series points standings, will drive the No. 36 this weekend at Atlanta and next week at Texas. He has 244 starts in the Cup Series, including 10 top-five finishes and 39 top-10s.

Benson will drive the No. 36 at Phoenix and Homestead, the season finale. During his 272-race Cup Series career, Benson has 18 top-fives and 58 top-10s.
