ELKO, Minn. -- Sean Caisse earned his eighth career pole in just his third season in the NASCAR Busch East, after setting fast time for Friday night's Minnesota 150.

Caisse, who had five poles in 11 races last season, qualified fastest with a time of 14.145 seconds. West Series driver Brian Ickler was second at 14.174 for the historic first combination race for the two Grand National divisions. Caisse's teammate with Andy Santerre Motorsports, Jeffrey Earnhardt -- a development driver for DEI -- qualified third at 14.179.

Gibbs Racing development driver Joey Logano (14.185) and Mike Olsen (14.211) rounded out the top five.

Six rookies qualified in the top 10 and the Busch East took 11 of the top 12 qualifying spots.
