Former Motor Racing Outreach chaplain Dale Beaver reaches for the hearts and souls of stock-car racing's 75 million enthusiasts with his new book Before the Thunder Rolls: Devotions for NASCAR Fans.

Part of the NASCAR Library Collection, Before the Thunder Rolls offers inspirational insights and anecdotes from Beaver's years with the Cup Series. He shares stories about individual racers and crew members, including Ward Burton, Bill Elliott, Jeff Gordon, Dale Jarrett, Bobby Labonte, Ryan Newman, Jimmy Spencer, Tony Stewart and others. Each makes profound and often witty connections between the behind-the-scenes details of stock-car racing and Christian life.

Beaver offers an insider's look into each critical stage of the racing experience, from "It Starts in the Shop" to "Off the Truck," from "How Did We Qualify?" to "Final Inspection," and finally, "Staying on Track off the Track." The book provides Scripture selections related to these pivotal moments in the racing experience.

Readers will also appreciate personal forewords from Jimmie Johnson and Ryan Newman, as well as Beaver's never-before-published eulogy preached at the nationally broadcast memorial for one of NASCAR's legends.

NASCAR's royalty will be donated to The NASCAR Foundation.
