Lap 250 -- WHITE FLAG: Matt Kenseth takes the white flag.

Lap 249 -- Jeff Burton spun his tires on the restart and falls to fourth. Jeff Gordon up to second, Jimmie Johnson to third.

Lap 248 -- GREEN FLAG: Matt Kenseth leads the field to the green flag. Kevin Harvick has a flat tire and has to pit.

Lap 245 -- Kyle Busch and Tony Stewart were the highest leaders to come down pit road from the sixth and seventh position.

Lap 244 -- RED FLAG: The red flag is out to allow safety crews to clean up the track.

Lap 244 -- YELLOW FLAG #9: David Reutimann hits the wall hard between turns three and four when Greg Biffle taps his rear bumper and his car has caught on fire. Ricky Rudd and Bobby Labonte also involved.

Lap 241 -- Kevin Harvick is closing in on Matt Kenseth. Kenseth's lead is only 0.7 seconds.

Lap 238 -- Matt Kenseth has a one-second lead on Kevin Harvick with 12 laps to go.

Lap 232 -- Matt Kenseth brings the field to the green-flag. There are 17 cars on the lead lap.

Lap 205 -- After another round of green-flag pit stops, Jimmie Johnson takes the lead coming off pit road when Matt Kenseth has some issues on his pit stop.

Lap 200 -- J.J. Yeley and Denny Hamlin enter pit road for tires and adjustments.

Lap 199 -- Kevin Harvick and Tony Stewart enter pit road. Stewart takes tires and fuel, makes no adjustments. Harvick will make minor adjustments and take four tires and fuel.

Lap 198 -- Jeff Burton and Clint Bowyer are on pit road. Burton takes tires and makes an air pressure change.

Lap 197 -- Leader Matt Kenseth is on pit road. He will take four tires and make an air pressure adjustment. David Gilliland was caught speeding exiting pit road and will have to serve a pass-through penalty.

Lap 196 -- Ryan Newman, David Gilliland, Kyle Busch and Tony Raines are on pit road for tires and fuel.

Lap 195 -- Jeff Gordon, Mark Martin and David Reutimann hit pit road for tires and minor adjustments.

Lap 194 -- Brian Vickers and Kurt Busch are on pit road beginning another round of green-flag pit stops.

Lap 184 -- John Andretti has an engine problem and is off the pace.

Lap 183 -- Matt Kenseth has led 93 laps so far, the most on the day. He continues to lead with Jeff Gordon second.

Lap 161 -- LEAD CHANGE: Clint Bowyer takes the lead before making his way down pit road. Tony Stewart was caught speeding leaving pit road, he will have to serve a stop-and-go penalty on pit road.

Lap 160 -- Tony Stewart, Jeff Gordon, Matt Kenseth and Mark Martin all make green-flag stops with adjustments. Mark Martin's crew has some problems on the pit stop, he loses a lot of time.

Lap 159 -- Jimmie Johnson begins green flag pit stops by coming in for four tires and adjustments.

Lap 152 -- Tony Stewart has opened up a lead of more than two seconds over second-place Jeff Gordon.

Lap 146 -- LEAD CHANGE: Tony Stewart gets past Matt Kenseth to take the lead. Gordon to second, Kenseth falls to third.

Lap 141 -- David Reutimann brushes the wall going into Turn 3, no major damage.

Lap 139 -- LEAD CHANGE: Matt Kenseth retakes the lead from Jeff Gordon.

• Matt Kenseth with a solid pit stop and wins the battle off pit road

Lap 116 -- YELLOW FLAG #6: Caution is out for debris on the straightaway. Greg Biffle will receive the free pass back to the lead lap.

Lap 112 -- Dave Blaney says his car has no oil pressure, he will take his No. 22 Camry to the garage.

Lap 111 -- Dale Earnhardt Jr. has his engine fixed, climbs back into his car and will return to the track. Kasey Kahne who also left the track with engine problems has returned to the track as well.

Lap 98 -- LEAD CHANGE: Matt Kenseth brings the field to the restart in his No. 17 Ford Fusion. Dave Blaney wasn't past the commitment cone with the caution came out, meaning he pitted when pit road was closed. He was forced to restart at the tail end of the longest line.

Lap 95 -- LEAD CHANGE: Dave Blaney grabs the lead by pitting while the caution came out and getting back on the track before the leaders passed him.

• Jimmie Johnson takes four tires and adjusts the car because it was too tight
• Clint Bowyer says car is a little tight, takes four tires
• Jeff Burton makes tire pressure and track bar adjustments, he loses four spots out of pit road
• Kevin Harvick also makes adjustments to his car

Lap 93 -- YELLOW FLAG #5: Debris on the track brings out the caution. Dave Blaney and Joe Nemechek on pit road at the time of the caution.

Lap 91 -- LEAD CHANGE: Tony Stewart catches Jeff Burton and reclaims the lead. Matt Kenseth hits pit road for a green-flag stop.

Lap 89 -- Carl Edwards makes an unscheduled green-flag stop after going a lap down

Lap 54 -- J.J. Yeley and Denny Hamlin are both on pit road for four tires and adjustments. Greg Biffle, David Stremme, Juan Montoya among others also making pit stops.

Lap 53 -- Kurt Busch hits pit road for tires and fuel.

Lap 52 -- LEAD CHANGE: Mark Martin hits pit road, Jimmie Johnson takes the lead.

Lap 51 -- Matt Kenseth, Carl Edwards and Kyle Busch all hit pit road for tires and fuel.

Lap 8 -- YELLOW FLAG #1: Scott Riggs gets loose in Turn 2, hits the wall collecting Jamie McMurray and Reed Sorenson.

Lap 1 -- Kasey Kahne leads the first lap, Gordon falls to third.

3:47 p.m. -- GREEN FLAG: The Auto Club 500 is under way as Jeff Gordon brings the field up to speed.

3:41 p.m. -- Cars are rolling off pit road

3:35 p.m. -- Grand marshal Kevin Costner revs the crowd up and then delivers the command, "Gentlemen, start your engines!"

3:28 p.m. -- Brian McKnight performs the National Anthem

3:27 p.m. -- Invocation

3:13 p.m. -- Sammy Hagar performs I Can't Drive 55 for the Fontana crowd.

3 p.m. -- Coverage of the Auto Club 500 is under way on FOX. It's 52 degrees at the track under mostly cloudy skies.
