Lap 71 -- Can the leaders make it the rest of the way on fuel? Jeff Gordon may still be a little bit short, although the caution has been extended to clean up some oil-dry.

Lap 68 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 6: Hamlin, Stewart and Edwards all go off the track racing for second place. Everybody's fine but there's dirt and grass everywhere.

At the same time, Kyle Petty's engine exploded in a trail of fire and Paul Menard spun in front of Matt Kenseth.

Lap 67 -- GREEN FLAG: Your top five ...

1. Jeff Gordon
2. Carl Edwards
3. Denny Hamlin
4. Juan Montoya
5. Tony Stewart

Lap 65 -- Sitting solidly in 12th place in the standings, Kurt Busch pits to fill it full of fuel.

Lap 63 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 5: Ryan Newman and Clint Bowyer go around -- and now Junior is slowing down.

Crew chief Tony Eury Jr. believes the motor gave up the ghost as the No. 8 is getting a push back to the garage from a safety truck.

Lap 62 -- Green goes around in the same corner as Mears.

Lap 61 -- LEAD CHANGE: Mayfield ducks on pit road and Jeff Gordon inherits the lead, followed by Kurt Busch and Dale Earnhardt Jr.

Casey Mears spins after contact with Jeff Green. Only a local caution.

Lap 58 -- LEAD CHANGE: Jeremy Mayfield takes the lead as Bobby Labonte pits.

Lap 56 -- Hamlin and Montoya may have made contact, as Montoya goes wide in a corner while running 10th but loses no positions.

Lap 54 -- GREEN FLAG: Bobby Labonte leads Jeremy Mayfield and Dave Blaney as five cars stay out. Gordon is currently sixth.

Lap 53 -- All of the leaders come in and pack it full of fuel for the final 37 laps. It's Gordon out in front of Junior, Hamlin and Kurt Busch.

Lap 52 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 4: Reed Sorenson spins and can't get it refired. Before that, Jimmie Johnson gets tapped by Juan Montoya and Johnson goes around in a huge cloud of smoke.

Lap 45 -- LEAD CHANGE: Stewart loops it in Turn 1 and Gordon goes around. Stewart returns to the track in 19th. "Sorry, guys, I wheel-hopped it."

Lap 42 -- GREEN FLAG: Your top five at this point ..

1. Tony Stewart
2. Jeff Gordon
3. Dale Earnhardt Jr.
4. Denny Hamlin
5. Jimmie Johnson

Lap 39 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 3: Kyle Busch goes around after contact with Carl Edwards.

Martin Truex Jr. misses the bus stop turn and has to come to a stop to avoid a penalty. But that costs him many spots.

Lap 38 -- LEAD CHANGE: Stewart inherits the lead as Carpentier heads for the pits. Carpentier's in and out in 15 seconds as the same crew that handled Mayfield's stop does double duty for the No. 10.

Lap 35 -- Stewart gets around Gordon for second and is closing the gap on Carpentier.

Lap 33 -- Jeff Gordon, Stewart and Junior trail Carpenter, who will have to pit soon. Martin Truex Jr. is currently fifth.

Lap 31 -- LEAD CHANGE: Patrick Carpentier assumes the lead as Jamie McMurray makes his stop. The jack falls on the right side of the No. 26, but danger is averted.

Lap 30 -- Jones heads for the pits, giving up third, then stalls the car. Robby Gordon is in, hoping to make the race on one more stop.

Lap 26 -- Carpentier passes Jones for second. Jeff Gordon's up to fifth.

Lap 25 -- GREEN FLAG: Jamie McMurray leads P.J. Jones and Patrick Carpentier to the line. The top seven didn't pit. Jeff Gordon is eighth. (Continued)
