BackLap-by-Lap: Michigan (cont'd)

10:08 a.m. -- The cars are off pit road and making their pace laps.

10:01 a.m. -- Army Sergeant Michelle Huerth delivers the command we've all been waiting for: "Gentlemen, start your engines!"

10:00 a.m. -- ESPN2's coverage of the 3M Performance 400 has started.

9:27 a.m. -- The green flag has been moved up from 10:13 a.m. ET to 10:08 a.m. ET. There will be a competition caution at Lap 25 to allow teams to make adjustments. Teams can not take fuel before the Lap 25 caution.

8:44 a.m. -- It's Tuesday and everyone is hoping to see some racing today. The good news is currently it is not raining at MIS, the bad news, the track is still really wet. It could take a while to get the track dry but here's hoping the green will fly at 10 a.m. as scheduled.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3:47 p.m. -- POSTPONED AGAIN!!!: The 3M Performance 400 has been postponed until 10 a.m. ET on Tuesday with ESPN2 providing television coverage.

3 p.m. -- The rain has turned to sprinkles and the jet dryers are back on the track.

2:45 p.m. -- It has started raining again at MIS and the jet dryers are currently parked on the backstretch. No word yet on when NASCAR has to make a decision.

2:05 p.m. -- Some good news from Michigan as track trying has been going on for a couple hours. The rain looks like it has stopped and the cars have been called to pit road. There is still a good amount of track drying to be complete but we could see some racing this afternoon.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2:56 p.m. -- POSTPONED: Rain has forced the 3M Performance 400 to be postponed. Green flag is scheduled to drop at 12:19 p.m. ET on Monday with ESPN2's telecast beginning at noon ET.

2:50 p.m. -- Rain is still falling at Michigan and in about 40 minutes we will be at the 3:30 p.m. mark.

2:13 p.m. -- Rain is coming down again at the track and it looks more and more like this race will be postponed.

1:18 p.m. -- NASCAR has said 3:30 p.m. ET is the point of the day where if they have to postpone the race, it will happen at that time.

1 p.m. -- ESPN's NASCAR Countdown has begun. Jet dryers are on the track and NASCAR still plans on doing driver introductions on time.

12:19 p.m. -- We are about two hours from the scheduled drop of the green flag but it has been raining at MIS steady since last night with no signs of letting up anytime soon. As of right now, track drying efforts have not started.
