CHECKERED/YELLOW FLAG: Jimmie Johnson wins the Subway 500, his third consecutive win at Martinsville. Ryan Newman finishes third, followed by Kyle Busch and Jeff Gordon.

WHITE FLAG: David Ragan spins and is sitting in the middle of the track, no caution as the leaders come upon him.

GREEN FLAG: Johnson, Newman, Gordon, with two laps to go.

Lap 496 -- CAUTION FLAG NO. 20: Bobby Labonte and Casey Mears this time, wrecking on the backstretch. We may be setting up for a green-white-checkered.

Lap 494 -- Newman works hard on Gordon and makes the pass for second.

Lap 493 -- Kenseth passes Junior for fourth.

Lap 490 -- GREEN FLAG: One more restart.

Lap 484 -- CAUTION FLAG NO. 19: Bill Elliott's car goes up in a huge cloud of smoke, right in front of the leaders.

Lap 482 -- Gordon gets a bumper inside coming out of Turn 4, but Johnson slams the door.

Lap 481 -- Kurt Busch slows.

Lap 480 -- GREEN FLAG: Johnson, Gordon, Newman.

Lap 476 -- CAUTION FLAG, NO. 18: Martin Truex Jr. goes around and has a flat left front tire. Looks like he got some help from David Ragan.

Lap 470 -- GREEN FLAG: Thirty laps to go, with Jimmie Johnson in the lead.

Lap 465 -- CAUTION FLAG NO. 17 -- Kyle Petty spins, courtesy of Martin Truex Jr., and collects Tony Stewart and Carl Edwards.

Lap 463 -- GREEN FLAG: Can Gordon return the favor, or are we looking at a repeat of the spring race?

Lap 457 -- CAUTION FLAG NO. 16: Ricky Rudd and Kasey Kahne make contact, and Rudd is into the wall.

Lap 456 -- LEAD CHANGE: Gordon and Johnson rub, Johnson makes the pass.

Lap 446 -- GREEN FLAG: Johnson is right on Gordon's bumper.

Lap 440 -- CAUTION FLAG NO. 15 -- Martin Truex Jr. and Casey Mears spin in Turn 3.

Lap 436 -- And Johnson finally completes the pass. Now, can he chase down the leader?

Lap 434 -- Side by side racing between Newman and Johnson. So far, the No. 12 is equal to the task.

Lap 422 -- GREEN FLAG: Gordon, Newman, Johnson ...

Lap 412 -- CAUTION FLAG NO. 14 -- Stremme and Truex touch, sending Stremme into a spin.

Lap 410 -- Kevin Harvick goes high in the corner and loses three or four spots.

Lap 402 -- GREEN FLAG: Gordon leads Newman to the line, with Johnson right behind.

Lap 396 -- Pits are open and this could be the last stop for the leaders.

Great stop for Gordon, as he comes out first, followed by Newman (who took two tires), Johnson, Kenseth, Junior, Harvick, Hamlin, Kyle Busch and Stewart.

Lap 395 -- CAUTION FLAG NO. 13: David Stremme spins.

Lap 390 -- Johnson is trying to find his way through lapped traffic, while Gordon remains right on his bumper.

Lap 375 -- Johnson leads Gordon by .7 seconds. The rest of the top 10: Harvick, Kyle Busch, Junior, Newman, Stewart, Labonte, Montoya and Jeff Burton.

Lap 355 -- LEAD CHANGE: Johnson gets past Kyle Busch.

Lap 350 -- Jeff Gordon is not full of fuel after the catch can came out during an adjustment. He can't make the distance, but crew chief Steve Letarte thinks no one else can, either.

Lap 348 -- GREEN FLAG: Kyle Busch stayed out and leads.

Lap 342 -- Leaders on pit road.

• Johnson gets four tires and an air pressure adjustment to the right rear.
• Gordon has some trouble with the left rear.
• Hamlin is slow getting away after the crew struggles with the left front.
• Labonte makes up six spots, while Truex is up 12.

Lap 341 -- CAUTION FLAG NO. 12: Jeff Green hits the wall and rolls slowly under the flagstand.

Lap 336 -- Gordon has cut Johnson's advantage down to a half-second.

Lap 326 -- Gordon moves to second, and we're back in a replay from the spring race.

Lap 320 -- Johnson leads Biffle by .9 seconds. The rest of the top five: Gordon, Hamlin and Harvick.

Lap 300 -- GREEN FLAG: It's Johnson, Biffle and Harvick to the line.

Lap 296 -- Action in the pits.

• Busch has trouble with the left front tire and loses three spots.
• Ryan Newman is up four spaces.
• Jimmie Johnson, Greg Biffle and Kevin Harvick stay out.

Lap 295 -- CAUTION FLAG NO. 11 -- David Ragan loops it.

Lap 293 -- Busch has a 2.7-second lead over Johnson.

Lap 282 -- Jeff Gordon and Jeff Burton swap positions with a lot of bumping and banging, as Juan Montoya tries to hang on to what looks like a loose car.

Lap 275 -- Jimmie Johnson's back up to fifth.

Lap 269 -- GREEN FLAG: After a long cleanup, we're under way again, with Kyle Busch in front.

Lap 258 -- Jamie McMurray stops for major break repair and he's now down three laps.

Lap 257 -- CAUTION FLAG NO. 10 -- J.J. Yeley with a ton of smoke coming from the header pipes, right in front of Junior. Apparently Reed Sorenson also lost a motor after it got stuck in gear.

Lap 256 -- Carl Edwards goes way up the track but keeps it off the wall and we're still green.

Lap 255 -- GREEN FLAG: It's Kyle Busch, followed by Bobby Labonte and Reed Sorenson.

Lap 249 -- The leaders all stop for service.

• Dale Earnhardt Jr. gets four tires and no major adjustments.
• Martin Truex Jr. gets an air pressure adjustment, as does Denny Hamlin.
• Tony Stewart's in for four and a jacking bolt adjustment.

Lap 248 -- CAUTION FLAG NO. 9: More debris.

Lap 226 -- LEAD CHANGE: Junior gets into the left rear of Montoya and makes the pass -- what's the Spanish word for "bump-and-run?" -- while Juan winds up sliding up the track and back in fourth.

Lap 220 -- GREEN FLAG: Several drivers stayed out, which puts Juan Montoya out front, followed by Dale Earnhardt Jr., Tony Stewart, Martin Truex Jr. and Jeff Gordon.

Lap 215 -- Leaders on pit road.

• Bobby Labonte gets two tires and comes out first.
• Kyle Busch gets four tires and fuel.
• Jimmie Johnson reports a loose condition and asks for an air pressure change.
• Jeff Burton gets a penalty for a commitment line violation.

Lap 214 -- CAUTION FLAG NO. 8: Debris on the track.

Lap 198 -- Burton and Biffle get by McMurray to slide into the top five.

Lap 192 -- GREEN FLAG: Kyle Busch leads them to the line.

Lap 187 -- CAUTION FLAG NO. 7: Michael Waltrip spins in Turn 3.

Lap 175 -- Montoya powers past Bowyer for fourth. Jeff Gordon is now 33rd.

Lap 172 -- GREEN FLAG: It's Kyle Busch, Matt Kenseth, Jamie McMurray, Clint Bowyer and Juan Montoya in the top five.

Lap 168 -- Gordon pits again, this time to check on a loose tire.

Lap 167 -- The leaders are on pit road

• Juan Montoya comes out first.
• Jimmie Johnson gets four tires.
• Jeff Gordon is complaining of a loose condition.

Lap 166 -- CAUTION FLAG NO. 6: Kurt Busch gets into the wall. Damage on the right side.

Lap 160 -- Burton is in traffic while Johnson is up to seventh and is one of the fastest cars on the track.

Lap 150 -- No change at the front, but Johnson is up to eighth.

Lap 140 -- Casey Mears is up to fifth as the cars which pitted are still stuck in lapped traffic.

Lap 126 -- Johnson is stuck in 12th, followed by Gordon in 13th.

Lap 125 -- GREEN FLAG: Burton leads the field to the stripe.

Lap 119 -- Several drivers stayed out, which has shuffled the standings. The current top five is Jeff Burton, Jeff Green, Juan Montoya, Bobby Labonte and David Reutimann. Crews are still attending to the damaged No. 01.

Lap 115 -- The pits are open and here come the leaders.

• Carl Edwards is getting an air pressure adjustment.
• Kyle Busch gets a track bar adjustment.
• Johnson gets four tires and no adjustments.
• Gordon gets four and a wedge adjustment.
• Hamlin is able to make repairs to the fender.

Lap 113 -- CAUTION FLAG NO. 5 -- Aric Almirola pulls off and leaps out with black smoke coming out from under the hood. There's something on fire.

Lap 109 -- LEAD CHANGE: Johnson catches and passes Gordon on the backstretch. Kyle Busch closes in on Gordon.

Lap 107 -- Gordon has company this time, as Johnson goes to the inside, but Gordon fights off the attack.

Lap 102 -- Lots of tire smoke out of Denny Hamlin's car from some damage on the left front. He's running 20th.

Lap 98 -- GREEN FLAG: Gordon gets gone again.

Lap 96 -- A.J. Allmendinger's having electrical issues and is several laps down as he sits in the pits.

Lap 90 -- CAUTION FLAG NO. 4: Elliott Sadler and Scott Riggs crash, with several others end up in the incident, including Reed Sorenson, Aric Almirola and David Regan.

Lap 89 -- Kyle Busch tries Jimmie Johnson on the outside but can't complete the pass. At the same time, Casey Mears is having brake issues.

Lap 87 -- GREEN FLAG: Gordon leads them back to the line.

Lap 82 -- Some cars head down for service. Jeff Burton is running hot, so the No. 31 crew took more tape off the grill.

Lap 81 -- CAUTION FLAG NO. 3 -- Lap-down cars of David Gilliland and Dale Jarrett bump and spin out, as the leaders have to take evasive action.

Lap 78 -- Kyle Busch works the outside groove and passes Harvick for third, while McMurray looms right behind.

Lap 73 -- GREEN FLAG: It's Gordon, Johnson, Harvick, Kyle Busch and McMurray.

Lap 68 -- CAUTION FLAG NO. 2: Johnny Sauter gets squeezed to the outside, makes contact with Tony Raines, cuts a tire and backs into the wall.

Lap 62 -- Johnson passes Harvick for second.

Lap 50 -- GREEN FLAG: Gordon, Harvick and Jimmie Johnson are your top three.

Lap 45 -- Pit stops for the lead-lap cars.

• Jeff Gordon gets four tires and fuel and comes out first.
• Dale Earnhardt Jr. asks for an increase in air pressure.
• Johnny Sauter gains six spots.
• Martin Truex Jr. loses four.
• Tony Raines and Scott Riggs make contact in the pits.

Lap 44 -- CAUTION FLAG No. 1: Robby Gordon cuts a tire and hits the barrier with his right front.

Lap 38 -- McMurray breaks into the top five after passing Truex Jr.

Lap 35 -- Jimmie Johnson works his way around Truex Jr. for fourth.

Lap 30 -- Gordon has already lapped Paul Menard, Kyle Petty and Bill Elliott.

Lap 25 -- Gordon is beginning to close on the backmarkers as Harvick and Kyle Busch try to keep the No. 24 in sight.

Lap 15 -- Gordon leads Harvick by 1.5 seconds as the field begins to string out.

Lap 13 -- Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Juan Montoya are stuck to the outside and losing spots.

Lap 9 -- Jamie McMurray is showing early speed, passing Kasey Kahne for seventh.

Lap 8 -- Kevin Harvick and Kyle Busch go underneath Martin Truex Jr.

Lap 6 -- The first five cars are nose-to-tail as Gordon grabs the early advantage.

Lap 1 -- GREEN FLAG: Jeff Gordon leads them to the line and away we go!

1:37 p.m. -- Subway spokesman Jared Fogle gives the command to start the engines.

1:30 p.m. -- Pre-race ceremonies are continuing with the invocation.

12:45 p.m. -- We're an hour away from the start of today's Subway 500 from Martinsville Speedway.
