Top 10 facts, additional figures from California Speedway

The Craftsman Truck Series has raced at California Speedway 11 times, every year since 1997.

Ted Musgrave, he of the 2.6 average finish at California, will be featured prominently in the Top 10: In fact, he is Nos. 3 and 7, which together factor ... 10. OK, enough of that.

Also, California has a 2-for-1 special on Saturday with a Truck-Nationwide Series double-dip. Two drivers will attempt to race in both events.

Mike Bliss won the first Truck Series race at California. He has never finished outside the top 10 in six career starts there. Kyle Busch will be making his first Truck Series start at the Fontana 2-mile oval. Busch attempted a start in 2001, but at just 16 years of age, sponsorship restrictions did not allow him to race.

1Times the winner has started higher than 12th: Steve Park started 25th in 2005, the first year the California race was moved to the second week of the season. It remains Park's only career Truck Series victory. The average start for the other 10 race winners is 6.8.

2Poles won by Andy Houston, most of any driver. Houston raced to the pole in his first two races at California, in 1998 and 1999. His best result in six starts at the track was a runner-up finish from the second starting position in 2000. Two drivers have won California from the pole: Mike Bliss in 1997 and Kurt Busch in 2000, his only series start at the track.

3Wins by Ted Musgrave, most of any driver. He won three in a row from 2001-03. Jack Sprague is the only other driver with multiple wins at California. Both of his came in consecutive years, too, in 1998-99.

4Career starts at California for Todd Bodine, whose first start there in 2004 resulted in his first Truck Series victory. Bodine has made three starts in the No. 30 Toyota at California, finishing second in 2006 and seventh in 2007. He made one start in the No. 66 Toyota, in 2005, and crashed out after completing three laps.

5Laps completed by Doug George, fewest of any driver. George retired to the garage with handling problems in his only start at California, in 1997, making him the first driver out of a race at the track in series history. It was the only start out of 20 that year and 56 in his career George made in owner Kenny Allen's No. 65 Ford. George had one top-five and 10 top-10s in his career, which ended in 2000.

6Extra laps it took to settle the 2006 race, the only green-white-checkered finish at California. It also was Mark Martin's third series victory in his first five starts. He became the first driver in California Speedway history to win a race in all three of NASCAR's national series at the track.

7Most top-fives by any one driver at California: Ted Musgrave, in as many starts. He shares the series high in top-10s with Jack Sprague, who has made nine starts at the track. Musgrave also is the track leader in laps led (129) and earnings ($256,645). Sprague ($207,000) is the only other driver to top the $200,000 mark in career earnings there.

8Caution laps in the 2003 race, fewest in series history at California. Only nine drivers finished on the lead lap, also fewest in series history. Jon Wood, who has a 9.4 average finish in five starts at California, was the last driver on the lead lap. Jason Small finished 10th, the last top-10 in his 36-race career. In fact, Small had more top-10s (three) than lead-lap finishes (two) in his career.

9Lead changes in last year's race won by Mike Skinner, just one of four drivers to lead a lap. That matches the first race at California for fewest drivers to lead a lap. That race featured only five lead changes, a series low.

10Starts at California for Dennis Setzer, without a DNF (tied for most with Terry Cook and Rick Crawford, both of whom have made 11 starts). Setzer has completed all but 20 of 1,006 laps at the track, but has never led there despite a 9.8 average starting position. He has six top-10s with a 12.8 average finish.
