A recap of NASCAR's stand-alone event at Nashville on Easter weekend.

Figuratively speaking

2.6 -- Clint Bowyer's average finish in eight Nationwide Series races at Nashville Superspeedway. Bowyer posted his fourth consecutive runner-up finish Saturday. He has never finished outside of the top five there. He has one victory, in June 2005.

Nationwide Series

Pit Crew of the Week

No. 07 Chevrolet: What the team lacked in qualifying it made up for come race time. Starting 31st, Clint Bowyer worked his way to the front, and was in position to capitalize when all the late-race drama produced a surprise ending. No winner has started worse in Richmond's 104-race history.

Tip of the Week

Handling performance is linked to your tires. Too much tire pressure yields less traction. Too little pressure creates uneven wearing. Both lead to reduced braking and cornering control.

Kyle Busch started from the pole and led a race-high 125 laps. But on Lap 162 of 225, Busch was battling Clint Bowyer too hard, lost control and slid into the No. 2 Chevy of Bowyer. Busch slid down the track and into the grass as Bowyer maintained control and took the lead. But he couldn't hold it. Richard Childress Racing teammate Scott Wimmer, who shares a part-time role as a driver in the 29 Chevrolet, passed Bowyer on Lap 205 and went on to post his first victory since July 2003. Bowyer finished second; Busch dropped to 16th. Carl Edwards, winner of the past three races at Nashville, finished third.

• Kyle Busch was the only driver to top 163 mph to win his first Nationwide pole of the season, and 12th of his career in the series. Busch bested Mike Bliss by more than two-tenths of a second. Scott Wimmer started 14th. Four drivers who started in the top 10 finished there: Clint Bowyer (started seventh), Carl Edwards (started fourth), Brad Keselowski (started eighth, finished fourth) and Kelly Bires (started fifth, finished fifth).
