Let the cute phrases begin.

Saddle up, partner. Mosey on over, cow poke. Big hats and bigger boots will be more common than prime rib this weekend when NASCAR heads to Texas. One trip to the Lone Star State brings out the best in people when it comes to adopting culture and history. The unique thing about Texas, however, is that it's all legitimate.

Visiting Texas without peeking back in time to the Old West is like ignoring Daytona's beaches or the lights and chips of Las Vegas.

While there are big-city stops along the way, the best Texas tourist destinations are found on the range.

Editor's Pick

Fort Worth Stockyards -- There's one place that is an absolute must-visit in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, and it's the Stockyards. This trip back to the Old West is more than sights and sounds. It's action. There are live cattle drives daily. There are rodeos weekly. There are real saloons and ho-downs. Locally owned places like Riscky'sexternal link or true Texas steak houses like Cattlemen'sexternal link are all in this historic district.

TWYLLA -- I just bought my tickets to my very first race at Texas Motor Speedway. I am really excited that I get to go! Who's going? We would like to maybe put together a meet and greet for anyone who is interested.

CWSTEX -- Texas has it all, great crowd, great tailgating, great race!
