Busch wins again; Pruett doesn't again, at Mexico

A recap of NASCAR's visit to Mexico City.

Figuratively speaking

• 1 -- Drivers who have won four consecutive Nationwide Series races. Sam Ard won races 30-33 in 1983 -- South Boston, Martinsville, Rougemont and Charlotte. Kyle Busch, who won Sunday's race in Mexico City, will go for four in a row Saturday in the Aaron's 312 at Talladega. Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Ryan Newman have won five starts in a row, but they were not in consecutive races.

Pit Crew of the Week

No. 99 Ford: Carl Edwards was 43rd after the first practice at Darlington on Thursday and qualified for Saturday night's race in the 36th position. The No. 99 team didn't quit though, making adjustments throughout the race and putting Edwards in a position to win, ultimately finishing second.

• Kyle Busch took advantage of late cautions and fresher tires to erase more than a six-second deficit and pass Scott Pruett to post his first career victory on a road course. Pruett tailed off to finish third. Marcos Ambrose finished second, but his run was tainted by a run-in with Boris Said.

Qualifying

• Making just his second Nationwide Series race of his career, 19-year-old Colin Braun beat out the road experts and Cup stars for his first pole. Braun turned a lap of 102.756 mph on the 2.518-mile Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez road course to best Scott Pruett, the lone Dodge in the top five. Besides Braun, other Fords to top the 102 mph mark were Carl Edwards, Marcos Ambrose and Boris Said.
