Figuratively speaking

20 -- Most number of consecutive laps a leader was able to stay out front in Sunday's Cup race. Tony Stewart led Laps 1-20. Only five times in the 188-lap race was a driver able to hold the lead for more than 10 consecutive laps, and Stewart did it three times for a race high 61 laps led.

Pit Crew of the Week

No. 99 Ford: Carl Edwards was 43rd after the first practice at Darlington on Thursday and qualified for Saturday night's race in the 36th position. The No. 99 team didn't quit though, making adjustments throughout the race and putting Edwards in a position to win, ultimately finishing second.

• In an exciting race that saw 52 lead changes among 20 different drivers and two big crashes in the final 13 laps that took out 17 cars, Kyle Busch managed to overcome a pit road miscue and hold on to win at Talladega. Tony Stewart and Dale Earnhardt Jr. led a combined 107 of the 188 laps, but the two got together on Lap 173 ending any hopes for a victory.

Qualifying
• Joe Gibbs Racing looked like the team to beat Saturday as Tony Stewart held the pole for most of the day with teammates Kyle Busch and Denny Hamlin joining him in the top five. But when the go-or-go home drivers took the track, all that changed and "Front Row" Joe Nemechek lived up to his name and earned the pole with a lap of 187.386 mph.

• Tony Stewart and Dale Earnhardt Jr. used each other to draft to the front all day long, but in the end Stewart held off Junior to win at Talladega -- a race that saw numerous violent crashes, one breaking the ankle of Dario Franchitti.

4. Denny Hamlin Posts his fourth consecutive top-five.
5. Jimmie Johnson Was in the mix at the end until getting shuffled back.
