The record has been obliterated -- the question now is how far will they take it?

To say Joe Gibbs Racing is dominating the Nationwide Series wouldn't do the three-driver team of Tony Stewart, Denny Hamlin and Kyle Busch justice. The No. 20 JGR Toyota is currently first in the owner standings, 127 points in front of the No. 2 RCR Chevrolet driven by Clint Bowyer.

After a small stretch of 20-something finishes, the 20 car has been the one to beat each week. But even Joe Gibbs' second car, the No. 18, which has run in just five races, is a force to be reckoned with when on the track.

In 12 races, Joe Gibbs Racing has eight wins, 10 top-fives and 11 top-10s -- and that's not even the most impressive part. Here's where the "record-shattering" comes in.

6Number of consecutive wins for owner Joe Gibbs in the Nationwide Series -- a series record. The previous mark was held by Jack Roush, whose team won four consecutive races in 2000 (Mark Martin - 3 and Jeff Burton - 1).
4Number of consecutive Nationwide races the No. 20 car has won in a row. While that isn't a first, the No. 20 car is the first to win four consecutive races with three different drivers in the Nationwide Series.

Coming off the bye-week, the series heads to Lowe's Motor Speedway on Saturday for the Carquest Auto Parts 300 (7 p.m. ET, ESPN2) and with just the No. 20 car entered, history lays in the hands of Hamlin -- and his past at Lowe's isn't a pretty one.

In six races at the track, Hamlin has led in just one of them and finished on the lead lap in only two. Still, with the way this No. 20 team has been running, Hamlin goes into Charlotte with confidence high.

"Charlotte has never really treated me very well, especially in the Nationwide Series," Hamlin said. "I just never got comfortable there when I was a rookie in 2005. When I finally got enough seat time between the Sprint Cup car and the Nationwide Series car, I finally started feeling comfortable there, especially last year.

"The new pavement from a couple of years ago is finally starting to get worn in, but not enough to see the tires fall off too much over a run. Charlotte has always been a place where you need to survive and save your stuff for the end. If we can stay out of trouble, we'll have a great shot of bringing our car home a winner."

The unsung hero in the No. 20 car's run has been crew chief Dave Rogers. While he's very pleased with how the first third of the season has turned out, there is no way you will catch him or his team relaxing.

"We are definitely appreciative of where we are, but we just keep looking at what we need to do to prepare for the next week and keep it going," Rogers said. "We're not sitting back because we know the competition is trying to beat us and we are probably more prepared now than we've ever been. I read a quote the other day that summed it up better than I ever could. It said that if you are impressed by what you did yesterday, then you haven't done anything today. I think that's the attitude that we've taken."

The mark has already been set, and it's going to be fun to see just how far Joe Gibbs Racing can take it.
