Following a West Coast trip, it's back east to Concord. Not Concord, N.C., the Charlotte suburb where most of the Cup teams are headquartered. This is Concord, the capital city of New Hampshire and just a short drive from the mile track in Loudon.

Originally settled as a farming community by the Abenaki Native Americans, the area is now one of the most politically charged of our country. Its State House stands as the oldest of its kind, built in 1818.

Just up the road about eight miles northeast sits Loudon, a tiny suburb of approximately 4,500 residents. Its most famous landmark: the speedway.

Editor's Pick

Covered Bridge Tour -- It's not fall yet, and but it's a good time to take in the scenery. Sure, gas prices are sky-high. But the drives in New Hampshire -- and spending money only on gas and a sandwich -- are worth it.

Fans' Voice

pookiechuck -- If you have time, go to Boston! So much history. There is always something to do in Boston. Might wanna check out the 2007 World Series champs, the Boston Red Sox.
