GOODLETTSVILLE, Tenn. -- After three seasons of single team sponsorship in what is now called the Nationwide Series, Dollar General Corporation is moving to Braun Racing in 2008 with the development of a diverse support program.
Dollar General, which supported the Nationwide Series efforts of Kevin Harvick Inc., for the last two seasons, will serve as a full-time major associate sponsor of the No. 38 Great Clips Toyota to be driven in all 35 races by Jason Leffler.
Leffler scored Toyota's first victory in NASCAR car competition last July at O'Reilly Raceway Park in Indianapolis with the same team. He finished third in the final driver point standings, thanks to seven top-five and 11 top-10 finishes.
Dollar General will also serve as the entitlement sponsor of Braun Racing's No. 32 Toyota in 11 Nationwide Series races in 2008.
In addition to its support of the No. 38 and No. 32 Toyotas, Dollar General will serve as the entitlement sponsor of Braun Racing's No. 10 Toyota for one race and in an associate sponsor capacity for the remaining events of both the No. 10 and No. 32 cars.
"Todd Braun and the folks in his organization have been good friends to Dollar General since our entry into the Nationwide Series in 2005," said Monty Bailey, Dollar General's motorsports manager. "We are excited about this new working relationship with Braun Racing as well as with their stable of great sponsors.
"What Braun Racing has accomplished as an independent in a series dominated by the big Sprint Cup Series teams is quite admirable. They are true competitors, and we look forward to supporting their efforts that will hopefully lead to even more victories next season."
Braun Racing has been a fixture in the Nationwide Series since 2003 and has fielded multiple cars in competition for the last few seasons. Owner Todd Braun is thrilled with the new relationship formed with Dollar General.
"I have admired the Dollar General racing program ever since the company first came into our sport, and it is indeed an honor that the company has decided to move its sponsorship and marketing support to Braun Racing this coming season and to be a partner on all three of our race cars," Braun stated.
"The Dollar General colors and logos have been carried proudly by some of our sport's best race teams and I am confident that Braun Racing will serve the company proud again and perform to the level that this fine company expects every week. We are excited about our chances in 2008."
