Pocono Raceway, the next stop on the Roush Fenway Express, has not been one of the team's better tracks. Since Jack Roush fielded his first team in 1988, he has had only two victories at the 2.5-mile track.
But Sunday's Pocono 500 is coming at a good time for the surging team. Last week at Dover, Roush placed three drivers in the top five for the first time in almost two years. And perhaps best of all, former series champion Matt Kenseth appears to have turned around his season.

"I'm excited to go to Pocono," said Carl Edwards, with three victories the only one of the five Roush drivers to visit Victory Lane in 2008. "I feel confident that we have what it takes to run well there, even though we have struggled some at Pocono in our last few visits there."
Edwards finished second last week and is fourth in the point standings, one spot ahead of Greg Biffle, who is coming off second- and third-place finishes. Kenseth, a top-10 mainstay, finished fourth last week for his third consecutive top-10 finish. He is an uncharacteristic 16th in points; but a month ago he was 22nd.
David Ragan, 22, is 13th in points and reinforcing Roush's faith in him after last year's trying rookie season. The fifth Roush driver, Jamie McMurray, has struggled the most. He is 22nd in points but did post his second top-10 of the season last week.
"After coming off a top-10 run in Dover last weekend, it certainly gives this team a shot in the arm," McMurray said. "I really enjoy running at Pocono even though I might not have the best results there. I've qualified really well there in the past. I sat on the pole there a few years ago and would like nothing better than to have a repeat effort this weekend."
Roush's history at Pocono isn't lost on McMurray.

"We tested at Pocono last week, and although we didn't have the best test session I felt really confident in the overall performance of Roush Fenway Racing," he said. "I really feel like we walked away with a lot of data, and a lot of additional knowledge we can use for the upcoming races. We have some great tracks coming up in the schedule, so I'm looking forward to the next few weeks."
So is Biffle, who might be looking at Pocono as a race to set up the next stop on the schedule, Michigan, where he has two wins. Biffle is winless at Pocono in 10 races with two top-10 finishes.
"Pocono has historically not been one of my best tracks," Biffle said. "We had a good run there a couple of years ago and were in contention to win. We ended up with a sixth-place finish, but I'd be happy if we could just have a run like that again this weekend.
"We've got momentum behind us right now, and we just need to keep it. A top-five or even a solid top-10 finish in Pocono this weekend would keep the momentum going and then we can get ready for Michigan, which is one of my favorite tracks."
