This may be Tony Stewart's first foray into ownership of a NASCAR team, but he has extensive experience in other forms of motorsports.

In 2000, Stewart formed Tony Stewart Racing, an Indianapolis-based operation that supplies cars for the USAC Midget and Sprint car divisions and the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series. Stewart's current USAC drivers are Levi Jones and Tracy Hines, while Kraig Kinser and defending series champion Donny Schatz handle World of Outlaws driving duties.
TSR has won a total of eight titles -- seven in USAC and one World of Outlaws crown.
In addition, Tony Stewart Racing outfits several United Midget Racing Association three-quarter midget teams.
Stewart expanded his motorsports empire in 2004 when he purchased the legendary Eldora Speedway, a half-mile dirt oval in western Ohio, from founder Earl Baltes.
Stewart also holds partial ownership in two other tracks -- Kentucky's Paducah International Raceway and Macon Speedway in Illinois.
