JACKSON, Miss. -- Continuing a solid foundation built last season, Ergon Inc. will raise its level of awareness in motorsports in 2008. Maintaining their partnership with the young and impressive Marc Mitchell, Ergon Inc. has formed a relationship with Billy Ballew Motorsports to sponsor Mitchell in the Craftsman Truck Series.

Kyle Busch's success in the No. 51 has been a boon to Billy Ballew's Truck Series operation.
Billy Ballew Motorsports will enter the No. 15 Ergon Chevrolet Silverado for Mitchell in 21 events this season beginning at the Chevy Silverado 250 at the Daytona International Speedway. Billy Ballew Motorsports also fields the No. 51 truck which is driven by Kyle Busch and David Stremme. (read more)
The No. 15 truck will complete the season's other four races using a driver-to-be-named, a team spokesperson said.
Ergon Inc., a diverse brand with more 60 companies under their umbrella, continues their relationship with Mitchell that included 11 ARCA events in 2007 highlighted by a second-place finish at the season kick-off at Daytona.
"We were impressed by Marc's ability last season, both behind the wheel and as a representative of our company," said Baxter Burns, vice president for Ergon Inc. "We are thrilled to be partnered with Billy Ballew this season as well. He has proved himself a winning owner and a dedicated individual to make this program a success."
Billy Ballew Motorsports has won events in three of the last four seasons with various notable drivers behind the wheel. Kyle Busch, Jeremy Mayfield, Mike Wallace and Geoffrey Bodine are some of the distinguished names that have driven for Billy Ballew Motorsports. Mitchell hopes to maintain that level of competition and bring more education to race fans of Ergon Inc, their divisions, products and services.
"The employees of Ergon and Billy Ballew and his staff have been amazing," Mitchell said. "They have given me all the necessary tools to be successful. Billy Ballew has a reputation in this series that speaks for itself. I'm ready to work hard and make this a winning program for everyone involved."
Mitchell will also be competing for Raybestos Rookie of the Year honors. The 21-race schedule for the 15 Ergon Chevrolet will include every race on the schedule excluding both Martinsville events, Dover and New Hampshire.
