MARTINSVILLE, Va. -- Bobby Hamilton Racing announced Thursday the addition of Charlie Wilson to its No. 4 and No. 18 Craftsman Truck Series teams roster . With more than seven years experience in the NASCAR industry, Wilson assumes the role of director of competition, overseeing the team's research and development program.

"When the team moved to this area, we started looking for employees to hire and several people told me I should talk to Charlie [Wilson]," said Stacy Compton, driver of the No. 4 BHR Dodge. "But it wasn't until I had the chance to sit down with him face to face that I realized how much of an asset he would be to our team.

"When I shared with him what we trying to do here and where we wanted to go, he fit that mold perfectly. He has been in our race shop only four days and I can already see him making a big difference."

Wilson took over the position at BHR after working at Kevin Harvick Inc. for the past two seasons. Before making the jump to KHI, he called former truck team Orleans Racing his home for three years. Wilson scored his first Truck Series victory with driver Steve Park behind the wheel at the Auto Club Speedway in 2005, beating out Bobby Hamilton Sr. for the checkered.

"It is always tough when you leave any organization you have called home for some time," Wilson said. "This presented a new challenge and a new opportunity for me. I really wanted the chance to work with Dodge Motorsports again. I worked with them at Orleans Racing and they have brought their truck program a long way. BHR has a historic past and I am excited to have the opportunity to work with them."

Wilson will work with both of BHR's teams, the No. 4 Dodge driven by Compton and currently 10th in the Truck Series points standings, plus the No. 18 Dodge piloted by Dennis Setzer, who sits eighth in the standings.
