Lap 89 -- WHITE FLAG: Marcos Ambrose works on Tony Stewart for second position but Stewart shuts the door.
Lap 88 -- Kyle Busch's lead on second-place Tony Stewart is 1.003 seconds. Jimmie Johnson is trying to get by A.J. Allmendinger for eighth but can't do it.
Lap 87 -- Kyle Busch continues to lead as the front cars are single-file like they restarted.
Lap 86 -- GREEN FLAG: Kyle Busch gets the race back under way.

Lap 85 -- The restart has been called off. A piece of debris was found on the track.
Lap 84 -- Cars are getting the one-to-go signal. Sam Hornish Jr. is on pit road getting some work done and new tires. Joe Nemechek is on pit road to repair the hood.
5:06 p.m. ET -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 4: Cars are rolling again under caution as the crash site in Turn 11 is clean.
4:42 p.m. ET -- Michael McDowell and David Gilliand are being called to the NASCAR hauler after the race to discuss the actions that led to the crash.
4:38 p.m. ET -- Bobby Labonte is being transported to a local hospital for evaluation.
4:24 p.m. ET -- RED FLAG: NASCAR has displayed the red flag to clean up the major crash in the final corner.
Lap 83 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 4: Big crash coming out of Turn 11 at the entrance of pit road. Multiple cars have heavy damage. David Gilliland and Bobby Labonte suffered the worst damage. Michael McDowell made contact with Gilliland coming out of the turn, and Gilliland bounced off the wall into traffic. Labonte slammed Gilliland, and others were collected.

Lap 82 -- GREEN FLAG: Kyle Busch gets the race going again with less than 10 laps to go. After the spin, Ryan Newman will restart 37th.

Lap 81 -- Ryan Newman's car comes to a halt again on the track and will not refire. The restart is called off.
Lap 80 -- Ryan Newman is on pit road as the crew works on his car.
Lap 79 -- With the spin by Ryan Newman, Marcos Ambrose moves into third position.
Lap 78 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 3: Ryan Newman spins in Turn 1 and his car backs into the racing line. The field avoids T-boning him as he sits in the center of the track. Teammate Sam Hornish Jr. pushes Newman away as the car refuses to start. Newman was running third.
Lap 78 -- Carl Edwards and his crew aren't sure about fuel. He runs ninth and was the first to make a pit stop during the final cycle. They are committed to taking a gamble.
Lap 77 -- Ron Fellows continues his solid run and is in 12th position.
Lap 76 -- Marcos Ambrose passes Juan Montoya to take fourth position on the track. They trail Kyle Busch, Tony Stewart and Ryan Newman.
Lap 75 -- Kyle Busch's crew is telling him to save fuel. They are confident they can make it to the end, but want to be sure.
Lap 74 -- Ryan Newman is running third and is 2.883 seconds back of leader Kyle Busch.
Lap 73 -- A.J. Allmendinger has a strong run going and is in 11th.
Lap 72 -- Jeff Gordon is mired in 30th position after battling problems all day.
Lap 71 -- P.J. Jones gets slight contact from Sam Hornish Jr. and spins, backing into the tire barrier in Turn 11.
Lap 70 -- Kyle Busch has the fastest car on the track and owns a 0.923-second lead on teammate Tony Stewart.
Lap 69 -- Martin Truex Jr. is having a strong day and runs in fourth position.
Lap 68 -- Dale Earnhardt Jr. is running 31st after having to pit under caution.
Lap 67 -- GREEN FLAG: Kyle Busch gets the race back under way.

Lap 66 -- LEAD CHANGE: Dale Earnhardt Jr. pulls onto pit road, leading a handful of lapped cars and the lead-lap car of Sam Hornish Jr. The rest of the leaders stay out. Earnhardt gets four tires and fuel. Kyle Busch is the new leader.
Lap 65 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 2: Debris is on the track from Travis Kvapil's trip through the gravel.
Lap 64 -- Leader Dale Earnhardt Jr. stays on the racetrack. Meanwhile, Travis Kvapil is off-course in the gravel.
Lap 63 -- Kyle Busch is now running second but is 22.970 seconds behind leader Dale Earnhardt Jr., who has not pitted.
Lap 62 -- Kasey Kahne is in from second place for his pit stop and gets fuel only. Paul Menard gives up his third-place running position to make his pit stop.
Lap 61 -- LEAD CHANGE: Jimmie Johnson is in for his final pit stop and gives the lead to Dale Earnhardt Jr. Johnson gets four tires and minor adjustments.
Lap 60 -- Following several pit stops, Jimmie Johnson leads by 5.482 seconds.

Lap 59 -- Jeff Gordon, Ron Fellows and David Gilliland are all on pit road for final stops. Gordon takes just two tires.
Lap 59 -- LEAD CHANGE: Juan Montoya hits pit road for his final stop. He gets tires and fuel with minor adjustments in a quick stop. The new leader is Jimmie Johnson.
Lap 58 -- LEAD CHANGE: Juan Montoya takes the top spot when the leaders pit. Marcos Ambrose is on pit road for a splash of fuel.
Lap 57 -- Leaders Kyle Busch and Tony Stewart hit pit road. Kevin Harvick, Kurt Busch, Clint Bowyer and Denny Hamlin all follow.

Lap 57 -- Marcos Ambrose is in communication with his crew. He may have a developing problem with his car.
Lap 56 -- LEAD CHANGE: Kyle Busch goes back in front, all but confirming a deal between teammates.
Lap 55 -- LEAD CHANGE: Tony Stewart cruises around Kyle Busch to take the top spot.
Lap 54 -- Carl Edwards locks the brakes and hits pit road from his third position. It's his last pit stop of the day. He is tight and gets four tires and wedge.
Lap 53 -- Jimmie Johnson is back in good position, running 11th following his cut tire.
Lap 52 -- Michael McDowell is running in 14th after staying out during the caution.
Lap 51 -- GREEN FLAG: Kyle Busch did not pit and leads the field to green. The top 14 cars stayed on the track.

Lap 49 -- Joe Nemechek will get the free pass.
Lap 48 -- CAUTION NO. 1: Debris is on the track from Sam Hornish Jr.'s trip through the sand.
Lap 48 -- Sam Hornish Jr. slides off the track just before the start/finish line and motors through the sand. He makes it out OK and continues on.
Lap 47 -- Jimmie Johnson's crew reports the left-rear tire on the No. 48 was cut and that is what plagued him before the unscheduled pit stop. He likely cut it when getting off course slightly.
Lap 46 -- Ron Fellows is in 19th. He is driving the No. 01 DEI Chevrolet after winning last week's Nationwide Series road race at Montreal.
Lap 45 -- At the halfway mark, Marcos Ambrose is up to 16th, continuing to improve his position.
Lap 44 -- Kyle Busch's new lead is 5.088 seconds on second-place Tony Stewart.
Lap 43 -- Jimmie Johnson is slowing coming out of Turn 9 and says he may have a flat tire. He hits pit road for the unscheduled stop and gets four tires and a wedge adjustment. He was running second and cannot make it to the finish with this fuel.
Lap 42 -- Dale Earnhardt Jr. is running sixth, 14 seconds behind leader Kyle Busch. His crew asks him to conserve some fuel.
Lap 41 -- Juan Montoya is now running 10th and is the fastest car on the track this lap.
Lap 40 -- David Gilliland is running 16th and has been in the top 20 most of the race. He started 24th. Gilliland was the runner-up at the other road race, at Sonoma.
Lap 39 -- Petty Enterprises cars of Boris Said and Bobby Labonte run 29th and 30th, respectively.
Lap 38 -- Jamie McMurray is having a strong run and is in 13th.
Lap 37 -- Juan Montoya is running 11th after his pit stop and has one of the fastest cars on the track.
Lap 36 -- Robby Gordon completes a second pit stop to get fuel only. He loses a lap.
Lap 35 -- Marcos Ambrose is consistently the fastest car on the track, but he's mired in 21st position.
Lap 34 -- Jeff Gordon is running 23rd after his pit stop.
Lap 33 -- Kyle Busch's lead on Jimmie Johnson is 0.613 seconds. Third-place Tony Stewart trails Busch by 7.209 seconds.
Lap 32 -- After his pit stop, Dale Earnhardt Jr. is running in sixth.
Lap 31 -- Jeff Gordon communicates with his crew about the radio not working prior to the pit stop: "Sorry about that guys; I don't know what happened. I must have pulled it loose."
Lap 30 -- LEAD CHANGE: With pit stops complete, Kyle Busch is the new leader.

Lap 29 -- Leader Dale Earnhardt Jr. is on pit road and one of the last cars to pit according to plan. Four tires and fuel with minor adjustments. Jeff Gordon is in for his pit stop after the miscommunication. The crew makes an air-pressure adjustment and pulls spring rubbers from the car. The crew hands him a radio into the car.
Lap 28 -- Jeff Gordon's crew is asking NASCAR to post his number on the board; the team cannot communicate with him to ask him to pit. NASCAR cooperates and black-flags Gordon to summons him to pit road.
Lap 27 -- Juan Montoya is in from his second spot. He gets an air-pressure adjustment on a loose racecar. He's very happy with the car. Kasey Kahne is also in for tires and adjustments.
Lap 26 -- Jimmie Johnson peels onto pit road from second position. Kurt Busch follows. Johnson gets tires and an air-pressure adjustment. Busch gets tires, an air-pressure adjustment and a round of wedge. Aric Almirola is also in for tires and adjustments.
Lap 25 -- Martin Truex Jr. is in for his stop and gets tires and minor adjustments; he loves his car. Marcos Ambrose is in for tires and fuel with a slow stop. David Ragan pits also; he's in his backup car and stalls the car leaving.
Lap 24 -- Kyle Busch gives up his third position to pit, along with teammate Tony Stewart and Denny Hamlin. Busch gets four tires and a round of wedge to battle a tight machine. Stewart gets four tires in search of rear grip. Hamlin gets a wedge adjustment for a loose car.
Lap 23 -- RCR cars of Kevin Harvick and Jeff Burton give up their top-10 spots to make pit stops.
Lap 22 -- Kurt Busch has cracked the top 10 in 10th. He started the race in 19th.
Lap 21 -- Dale Earnhardt Jr. continues to lead by 1.436 seconds on Jimmie Johnson.
Lap 20 -- Carl Edwards dives onto pit road from his top-five starting spot. Greg Biffle follows him. Both get four tires and fuel. Edwards is tight in the left-hand turns. Matt Kenseth is also in for major changes: wedge and a spring rubber removed.
Lap 19 -- Reed Sorenson spins out in Turn 1 and stops on the pavement. He gets going again without any problems.
Lap 18 -- A.J. Allmendinger is in for his scheduled pit stop. He gets tires and fuel. He can make it the rest of the race on one pit stop.
Lap 17 -- Two Fords are running in the top 10: Carl Edwards in fifth and Greg Biffle in eighth.
Lap 16 -- P.J. Jones and Patrick Carpentier make contact and go for a spin in Turn 1. The pavement stops them short of the wall. Carpentier got loose in the turn below Jones and both turned around. No caution.
Lap 15 -- Marcos Ambrose started 43rd and is now up to 29th. Ambrose won the Nationwide race at Watkins Glen on Saturday.
Lap 14 -- Jeff Gordon is telling his team the car is really loose. He has fallen to sixth position.
Lap 13 -- Sam Hornish Jr. is the biggest mover. He started 32nd and is now in 22nd.
Lap 12 -- Juan Montoya dives below Kasey Kahne but it was too hard; he loses the position to Kahne again and settles in 15th.
Lap 11 -- Tony Stewart swaps positions with Jeff Gordon and now runs fourth. Farther back, Matt Kenseth has fallen from 13th at the start to 17th.
Lap 10 -- Kyle Busch gets around Jeff Gordon for third place. Tony Stewart has now caught the duo.
Lap 9 -- Kyle Busch works on the rear of Jeff Gordon going into Turn 1 but backs off in the battle for third position.
Lap 8 -- Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s lead is 1.708 seconds on Jimmie Johnson.
Lap 7 -- Clint Bowyer started 12th but is down to 16th on the road course. The leaders remain the same.
Lap 6 -- Juan Montoya is on the move. He started the race 25th and is now running 16th.
Lap 5 -- Tony Stewart is up to fifth after starting ninth. He has four Watkins Glen victories.
Lap 4 -- David Reutimann goes for a spin in Turn 1 as he locks the wheels going into the corner. He comes to rest on the pavement and moves on in last place. No caution.
Lap 3 -- Hendrick power rules as teammates Dale Earnhardt Jr., Jimmie Johnson Jeff Gordon are 1-2-3. Former Hendrick driver Kyle Busch settles into third place.
Lap 2 -- LEAD CHANGE: Dale Earnhardt Jr. scoots to the inside of Kyle Busch to take the lead in the ess turns. Jimmie Johnson gets by also, and Jeff Gordon out-brakes him in in the final turn.
Lap 1 -- Kyle Busch leads the first lap as Jimmie Johnson moves from fourth to third ahead of Carl Edwards. Jeff Gordon follows.
2:22 p.m. -- GREEN FLAG: Kyle Busch and Dale Earnhardt Jr. get the Centurion Boats at The Glen under way.
