New Balance to provide shoes for Gibbs' pit crews

HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. -- Joe Gibbs Racing has entered a partnership with New Balance Athletic Shoe Inc. to supply the crews for each of its three Sprint Cup Series teams and two Nationwide Series teams with a specialized shoe designed specifically to improve the performance of pit crew members as they go over the wall.

"It's no secret that our pit stops can be the difference between winning and losing a race," Gibbs said. "The New Balance pit crew shoes provide our guys with the confidence to perform at their highest levels every time they go over that wall."

Through product research and development, New Balance works to provide pit crew members with the best traction and support possible as they go over the wall and execute the demands required during a pit stop at the sport's highest level. In NASCAR, losing even a tenth of a second could impact race results.

In addition to supplying specifically designed shoes to the pit crews for each team, New Balance will provide training shoes for their workout use as well as athletic footwear to JGR's entire travel team, providing support and comfort as they spend long days on their feet preparing the car for race day.
