CONCORD, N.C. -- The longest race in NASCAR turns 50 this year and Coca-Cola is marking the occasion with a golden opportunity for race fans.

To celebrate the 50th running of the Coca-Cola 600 at Lowe's Motor Speedway, Coca-Cola is giving one lucky fan an opportunity to drive away with a genuine piece of NASCAR history, the official 2009 Toyota Camry Hybrid pace car used during the race, the first hybrid vehicle to lead the field throughout a Sprint Cup Series event.

A one-of-a-kind golden can featuring the 50th Coca-Cola 600 logo and a congratulatory message will be the key to winning for fans in 10 states throughout the Southeast. The lucky fan who finds the golden can -- that was randomly inserted into one of approximately 6 million specially marked 12-packs of Coca-Cola Classic -- will win the official Coca-Cola 600 pace car. Please see specially marked packages for details, offer valid while supplies last.

Specially marked 12-packs of Coca-Cola Classic celebrating the 50th running of the Coca-Cola 600 are available now through May 31, or while supplies last at participating supermarkets, convenience stores and club stores throughout Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia. Each 12-pack features a special ticket offer for the May 24 Coca-Cola 600 that includes four race tickets, four hot dogs and four bottles of Coca-Cola, all for just $39.75 per person.

In addition to the Golden Can promotion, Coca-Cola is recognizing the 50th Coca-Cola 600 with the introduction of commemorative Coca-Cola classic 8-ounce bottles and six-pack carriers. The limited-edition glass bottles feature a custom 50th Coca-Cola 600 label and are scheduled to hit shelves at participating retailers across the Southeast beginning April 13.

"Coca-Cola's long partnership with NASCAR and Lowe's Motor Speedway has always included a commitment to bringing fans closer to the sport -- both at the track and beyond," said Lauren Steele, vice president, corporate affairs, Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Consolidated. "What better way to celebrate the 50th running of the Coca-Cola 600 than by giving fans an opportunity to win the actual pace car from this historic race."

The Coca-Cola 600 is the longest continuous race sponsorship in NASCAR. This year's race will be broadcast live on FOX on Sunday, May 24.
