Five drivers have opened a Cup Series season with two consecutive wins. None have won the first three ... yet.

Last Sunday, Matt Kenseth became the fifth driver to start a season with back-to-back wins. At Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Sunday, he will attempt to become the first driver to win the first three.

Like last week at Auto Club Speedway, Kenseth is strong at Las Vegas. Statistically, Las Vegas is one of his best tracks:

Matt Kenseth

Best Cup tracks (Driver Rating and Average Finish)
Track Driver Rating   Track Average Finish
Chicagoland 120.4   Las Vegas 9.0
Dover 114.5   Fontana 9.0
Homestead 113.7   Michigan 9.1
Fontana 113.1   Chicagoland 9.8
Las Vegas 107.8   Texas 10.1

Kenseth won at Las Vegas in 2003 and 2004, and since the inception of Loop Data in 2005, has strong statistics while posting an average finish of 8.5:

Matt Kenseth

Las Vegas Motor Speedway (last four years)
Date Finish Avg. Run. Pos. Fastest Laps Run Laps Top 15% Driver Rating Laps Led
3/05 8 15.9 5 55.4 94.0 0
3/06 2 3.6 33 97.8 135.8 146
3/07 4 18.7 1 30.7 83.7 1
3/08 20 4.9 51 94.0 117.5 70
Total 8.5 10.8 90 69.6 107.8 217

Even if Kenseth fails to win Sunday, his four Roush Fenway Racing teammates could help match another Cup Series record. Only two owners / teams have won the first three races of a season. Owner Peter DePaolo's team won the first three races of 1957 (two wins by Marvin Panch, one by Fireball Roberts) and Petty Enterprises won the first three races in 1963 (two wins by Jim Paschal, one by Richard Petty).

Greg Biffle and Carl Edwards each rank in the top 10 in Las Vegas pre-race Driver Rating, though Jamie McMurray and David Ragan have struggled. Below are Roush Fenway other drivers' Las Vegas statistics and where they rank in the category:
