Now that Ron Hornaday's drought is over, he may be ready to unleash on the rest of the Truck Series.
Hornaday scored his first victory of the season two weeks ago at Charlotte. It was just the second time in his full-time Truck career that he had gone five races into a season without a victory heading into the race at Lowe's Motor Speedway.
The series goes to Dover International Speedway this weekend for a Friday afternoon special (8 p.m. ET tape delayed, SPEED), and Hornaday has to be drooling at the potential.
While Dover isn't keen on rewarding those drivers who have found success there in the past, it is a place that Hornaday has tamed before. He won there in 2007. And the other three times he raced at the Monster Mile he didn't win, but he's put up a better fight in the big picture than any other driver.
"This track can be very unpredictable because of the high banks and the high speeds, which can lead to a self-cleaning race track. The concrete surface also provides an added challenge that the competitors don't normally see at some other tracks."
-- Wayne Auton, Truck Series director
