All eyes will be on Tony Stewart this weekend during the Allstate 400 at the Brickyard as the Hoosier native looks to land his third win at the storied track.
But before his week fills up with dozens of media requests, sponsor appearances and on-track demands, Smoke was able to "push his reset button" as he likes to call it and do a little dirt racing at his own Midwest playground, Eldora Speedway, for the annual running of the Kings Royal.
The driver -- relaxed and able to entertain a mindless conversation about topics such as back to school clothes shopping, sushi and skater shoes -- revealed a lighter side of himself before tending to his winged sprint car teams.
Here are five things about one of Indiana's favorite NASCAR stars.
1. Back to school shopping ...
Stewart and his sponsor's charity, Office Depot Foundation, are donating 5,000 backpacks, as well as various school supplies, to Indianapolis-area children's groups and schools Thursday making it evident that back-to-school shopping is just around the corner. What does Stewart remember?

"I never had the fancy clothes I never had the fancy shoes. I was one of those kids who wore a pair of shoes until they were absolutely worn out. Mom would pretty much make the decision that we had to get new shoes. I liked having the same pair of tennis shoes every day, that was it for me."
2. The kicks ...
Stewart puts his pants on one leg at a time, like everyone, but he is very particular about the shoes on his feet. For years now, he has sported the same style of DC skate or BMX cushy, padded black tennis shoes.
"I've worn them for five or six years now, they're the style I like. They're comfortable to me, I just like them."
Does your closet look like Charlie Brown's closet with rows and rows of the same pairs of shoes?
"I have more shoes now than I ever had, which still only makes up one of those little racks you get at Wal-Mart or something, you know the ones that hold about six or eight pairs of shoes. Believe it or not, that's all I've got."
3. How he rolls ...
He loves Coke, pizza and Burger King's Whopper Jr. -- but he also has a diverse palate for sushi.
"Sushi at the Lake in Cornelius, N.C., is my favorite place to get sushi. I'm pretty simple, I usually go with a California roll or a spicy tuna roll."
4. Shhh, you talk too much ...
Drivers, like anyone on the scene, have bad dates. Stewart described his most recent encounter.
"She just talked too much. The hard thing is a date with me normally is not one night -- it's normally a two- or three-day deal because of my schedule. At the end of the day you just want to relax and wind down a little bit, but she was a chatterbox and it drove me nuts. And it was way too much drama."
5. Married with children in 10 years ...
"I would hope so, yeah, God I would hope so. I'll be disappointed if I'm not but I really don't have any leads right now. Best-case scenario, I'd love to be home more in Indiana but I'm having fun business wise and I'm having fun with my career right now. Every time I've got to run a dirt race this year, I've had more fun than I've had in a long time. I'm really happy, I'm having a blast right now."
