NEWTON, Iowa -- Iowa Speedway will roll out the red carpet on July 30 to welcome members of NASCAR and the local community to Rusty's Roast presented by Musco Lighting, a night of revelry and reflection on the life and career of Cup Series legend Rusty Wallace.

Attendees will observe some of Wallace's closest friends and newly minted antagonists, including ESPN sportscaster Marty Reid, Nationwide Series driver Kenny Wallace, NASCAR president Mike Helton and NASCAR vice president of competition Robin Pemberton, honor and "roast" one of the legendary drivers in NASCAR.
The event will highlight key moments from this former NASCAR champion's illustrious career, including his 1989 Cup championship and 55 career wins, and point out some of those moments he would rather be forgotten.
The event will occur just days prior to the first ever Nationwide Series race at Iowa Speedway and will complement a number of activities scheduled to celebrate this historic weekend.
Rusty's Roast, scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m., will raise funds for the NASCAR Foundation, of which Wallace serves on the Board of Directors.
Musco Lighting, based in Iowa, is the presenting sponsor of the event this year.
Fans are invited to submit congratulatory notes to Rusty on the NASCAR Foundation's Rusty Roast message board now through July 28. Select notes will then be shown on screens at the event.
On Aug. 1, NASCAR fans and community members will get the opportunity to join in the festivities with Rusty for the NASCAR Foundation Track Walk presented by Hock Foods. The Track Walk will give fans the opportunity to walk a lap around Iowa Speedway. The event kicks off at 8:45 a.m. and is $30 per adult in advance or $35 at the track. Children 14 and under are free with a registered adult. All walkers will receive a commemorative T-shirt.
Tables and individual seats for Rusty's Roast are still available; please contact Eleanor Hains at (704) 348-9680 or ehains@nascarfoundation.com for more information.
