POCONO, Pa. -- The legends of NASCAR, including Richard Petty, David Pearson, Bobby Allison, Cale Yarborough and Darrell Waltrip, have raced and won on Pocono Raceway's 2.5 mile superspeedway. More recently Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson, Kasey Kahne and Carl Edwards have taken the checkered flag.
On June 6, race fans can set foot on the same track that these drivers raced on and relive history as part of the Second Annual Pocono Raceway NASCAR Foundation Track Walk. Fans participating in the walk will feel the sensation of the banking in Turn 1, view the almost mile long frontstraight from the perspective only drivers know and step across the finish line that has brought glory to so many drivers.
Proceeds from the walk benefit The NASCAR Foundation and the American Red Cross. The walk gets underway at approximately 3 p.m. ET following the ARCA RE/MAX Series race.
Fans can register online at www.poconoraceway.com. Online registration is $30 per participant (children 14 and under may walk for free with a paid adult).
At-track registration is $35 per participant (children 14 and under may walk for free with a paid adult). At-track registration will be held from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. on June 5 and 8 a.m.-3 p.m. on June 6 at the NASCAR Foundation hauler in FanFair behind the main grandstand.
