DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- International Speedway Corporation on Monday announced Joie Chitwood III will join the Company as Vice President of Business Operations, effective Aug. 10. In addition, the Company announced W. Grant Lynch Jr. will become Chairman of Talladega Superspeedway and Vice President, ISC Strategic Projects.

Chitwood, 40, will lead strategy development and oversee business execution across the Company's 13 motorsports facilities and Americrown Service Corp., ISC's catering, concessions and merchandising subsidiary. He will report to ISC Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Roger VanDerSnick.
In his new role as Chairman of Talladega and VP, ISC Strategic Initiatives, Lynch will oversee strategic management and community leadership for one of ISC's premier facilities while continuing to provide leadership and execution for key strategic projects across the Company.
Prior to joining ISC, Chitwood served as President and COO of Indianapolis Motor Speedway. He joined IMS as Senior Vice President, Business Affairs on Oct. 1, 2002, and was promoted to President and COO in December 2004.
Before joining the IMS executive staff, Chitwood was Vice President and General Manager of Raceway Associates LLC, which oversaw construction of the 1.5-mile Chicagoland Speedway from 1999-2002. During his tenure at Chicagoland, Chitwood also served on the board of directors of several Joliet, Ill.-area economic development organizations.
Chitwood is relocating to Florida with his family.
