Beyond the paint schemes and stock car prints, Carrie Guy is creating a demand for a different kind of art in NASCAR.

Instead of focusing on the two-legged subjects within the sport, Guy, a NASCAR newcomer who recently married Furniture Row Racing crew chief Jay Guy, wants to paint your pet.
The 33-year-old artist and graduate from UCLA recently formed her own business, Henry & Me, commissioning illustrations for clients who right now comprise mostly of young families and NASCAR friends.
Launched in December 2008, word seems to be spreading about the new canine, as well as feline, creations.
"Our Furniture Row team is pretty small but they all know I do art," Guy said. "Regan Smith's girlfriend recently asked for a picture of her dogs to be done. Right now I'm pretty low-key but who knows ..."
What is more interesting is Guy's ability to balance her artistic life with her new NASCAR life.
Being married to a crew chief, who potentially is gone more than 36 weekends out of the year, requires some creative juggling for those women looking to maintain their own identity but at the same time sustain a supportive marriage.
Guy has found that happy medium and fashioned an impressive routine on the road.
On race weekends she flies on the Furniture Row team plane toting her hard palate of watercolors, brushes and special paper, as well as her laptop for the graphic design element of her projects.
Sometimes the crew watches her paint on the plane and can find it relaxing -- other times they barely notice. Once at the track, Guy retreats to the hotel and her husband takes his place perched atop the pit box. (Continued)
