Lap 109 -- Greg Biffle leads by 2.5 seconds. Jimmie Johnson has caught the bumper of Gordon.

Lap 107 -- Kurt Busch telling his team he has pushed the engine too hard and it is failing. The No. 2 team is trying to hang on until a caution.

Lap 106 -- Jimmie Johnson passes Kurt Busch for third.

Lap 104 -- Jeff Gordon is able to pass Kurt Busch and Jimmie Johnson back and put some distance between them.

Lap 103 -- Jeff Gordon falling back to teams that took tires as Kurt Busch and Jimmie Johnson pass him for second and third.

Lap 102 -- Mark Martin down to fifth as Jeff Gordon, Kurt Busch and Jimmie Johnson pass him.

Lap 14 -- Jimmie Johnson and Kurt Busch have opened up a one-second lead.

Lap 13 -- Kyle Busch has worked his way up to 31st after starting at the rear of the field.

Lap 11 -- Martin Truex Jr. is off pit road and now two laps down.

Lap 7 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 2: Matt Kenseth's engine blew up and his day is over. Todd Bodine spun after contact from Denny Hamlin. Elliott Sadler and Marcos Ambrose hit each other trying to avoid Bodine. Brad Keselowski will get the free pass and rejoin the lead lap.

Lap 6 -- Matt Kenseth can not get his No. 17 Ford up to speed and will hit pit road soon.

Lap 4 -- Matt Kenseth was too fast exiting pit road and will start at the tail end of the longest line. Elliott Sadler on pit road.

Lap 3 -- Matt Kenseth's engine shut off on the backstretch so they are working on that on pit road. Denny Hamlin and Marcos Ambrose also pit.

Lap 2 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 1: Brad Keselowski smacked the wall in Turn 4 causing him to lose his right rear tire and spin. No one is eligible for the free pass.

Lap 1 -- LEAD CHANGE: Jimmie Johnson gets a great start and leads the first lap with Kurt Busch right on his bumper.

4:47 p.m. -- GREEN FLAG: Kyle Busch has moved to the rear giving Jimmie Johnson the pole position for the Shelby 427. Johnson brings the field to speed for 285 laps in Las Vegas.

4:40 p.m. -- The cars are rolling off pit road for their warm up laps.

4:37 p.m. -- Carroll Shelby delivers the command: "Gentlemen, start your engines!"

4:31 p.m. -- The cast from the Tony Award winning musical Jersey Boys performs the national anthem.

4:30 p.m. -- LVMS Chaplain Joe Freiburger delivers the Invocation.

3:35 p.m. -- Five Toyotas are going to the rear of the field due to engine changes. Kyle Busch, Scott Speed, Brian Vickers, David Reutimann and Marcos Ambrose will all start at the rear of the field.

3:30 p.m. -- FOX's pre-race coverage of the Shelby 427 is under way.

2:45 p.m. ET -- The sun is shining at Las Vegas Motor Speedway and it's a beautiful day for racing. Currently it's 62 degrees and the temperature will get into the 70s this afternoon. Green for the Shelby 427 is at 4:46 p.m. ET.
