GRAPEVINE, Texas -- GameStop Corporation announced Monday it has extended its sponsorship with Joe Gibbs Racing through the 2010 Nationwide season. Joey Logano will drive the No. 20 GameStop Toyota in 21 Nationwide events, beginning with the season-opening race at Daytona on Feb. 13.
"When we decided to enter NASCAR three years ago, we knew we had to find the right driver/team combination," Paul Raines, chief operating officer for GameStop said. "Joey has proven to be the perfect fit with his passion for gaming and his fierce competitive spirit behind the wheel. Riding on the success Joey and the No. 20 team had in 2009, we look forward to seeing Joey in Victory Lane multiple times this year."
Just days after his 18th birthday in May 2008, Logano made his Nationwide Series debut with GameStop as his primary sponsor. Logano then powered to victory in only his third Nationwide start, making him the youngest winner in series history. In 2009, Logano grabbed four pole positions and won five Nationwide races.
"GameStop is a phenomenal partner, and we need to continue to deliver the results they deserve as the leader in its industry," said J.D. Gibbs, president of JGR. "In the past couple years it has became obvious that Joey Logano and GameStop make up perhaps the best driver-sponsor combination in the Nationwide Series. We're looking forward to a great season."
