True/False is a feature on NASCAR.COM, where one driver, owner or crew chief shares three unique stories about themselves that go beyond their lives on the track. Two are true, one is false. When you've finished reading all three, scroll down past the bottom photo to learn which story is false.

1. I was born in 1984 and was racing by the age of 3. I had my parents take my training wheels off by age 2 and have had the racing bug ever since.

2. I sold long-distance phone coverage at age 13 to help raise sponsorship to continue racing karts. At age 14, my 16-year-old brother and I moved out of my parents' house with their permission so that I could race professionally for a kart team in northern California.

3. If I wasn't a race car driver I would be a professional angler or own a farm and raise cattle. I've always had a love for animals and the outdoors.

No. 3 is false. McDowell said that if he weren't racing, he'd be a motivational speaker or own his own race team.

Next week: Learn whether or not Michael Annett's birth was scheduled so as not to conflict with the race season.
