1956: Buck Baker wins the first Cup race in Alabama and the only race at Chisholm Speedway in Montgomery. Baker leads the final 60 laps and wins the 200-lap race on the half-mile dirt track. Ralph Moody is the only other car on the lead lap, and Marvin Panch is third, one lap back.
