MOORESVILLE, N.C. -- Road-course specialist Boris Said will drive the No. 83 Red Bull Toyota on Aug. 8 at Watkins Glen, the team announced Tuesday.

"He's better than the best available," said Jay Frye, Red Bull Racing Team vice president and general manager. "He's a phenomenal talent and an even better guy. He's been close to winning one of these things in the past. We have great history with him, and we have high expectations with him in the car."
Said has nine Cup Series starts at Watkins Glen, including one top-five finish and two top-10s. His best finish of third came at the 2005 race.
"I feel like we'll have a great chance to win this race. It is going to be fun, no matter what. Red Bull participates in so many different forms of racing -- this is an exciting opportunity for me and I jumped at the chance."
The start at Watkins Glen will make Said the fifth driver of the No. 83 car in 2010, after primary driver Brian Vickers had to vacate the car due to blood clots earlier in the season. Reed Sorenson has driven the No. 83 car the past three races and will continue to do so through Indianapolis and Pocono.
