For the first time in Nationwide Series history, qualifying for the Daytona race was rained out and set by the rule book. But that wasn't all Mother Nature altered. Cup practice in the morning and the Truck race scheduled for 8 p.m. ET were also affected by the rain.

The Truck race will be run at 7 p.m. ET, after the completion of the Nationwide race, which begins at 1:15 p.m. ET. Before both races, the Cup Series will run its scheduled practice at 10:30 a.m. ET.

Defending Nationwide Series champion Kyle Busch is on the pole for the Drive4COPD 300 with Carl Edwards on the outside of the front row. Cup veterans Greg Biffle and Tony Stewart made the 43-car field thanks to wins in 2009 and Jeff Green used a champion's provisional to make the race (Race Lineupexternal link).

Jeremy Clements, Kevin Lepage, John Borneman, Brett Rowe, Derrike Cope, Johnny Chapman, Jason Keller and Shelby Howard failed to qualify. Jeff Fuller, Donnie Neuenberger, Dennis Setzer, Mark Green and Parker Kligerman withdrew from the event.

SPEED will have coverage of the Truck race beginning at 6:30 p.m. ET while ESPN2 will air the Nationwide race beginning at Noon ET.

The forecast for Saturday calls for cloudy skies with a high of 54 degrees. On Sunday, the Daytona 500 will race under partly sunny skies with a high near 60.
