Nationwide team owner fined, placed on probation

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- NASCAR has penalized Johnny Davis, owner of the No. 01 car in the Nationwide Series, for a violation following Sunday's race at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve.

Davis has been fined $5,000 and placed on NASCAR probation until Dec. 31 for violating Section 12-1 (actions detrimental to stock car racing/involved in an altercation on pit road after the completion of the race) of the 2010 NASCAR rule book.
