"We really needed to start this year out right," team owner Danny Gill said. "We wanted to show up and let everyone know that Team Gill Racing is bringing a lot to the table every weekend.

"We have a lot of really good things working in our favor right now. We feel like we're going to be a force to be reckoned with all season and well into the following years."

Benson, who logged six victories in 2008 en route to the championship, will share the Ford's seat with rookie Lance Fenton this season. Fenton is scheduled to run at least seven of the 25 events.

Fenton will make his first start with Team Gill Racing in the ASA Transcontinental Series event scheduled for Jan. 31 at the 1.5-mile Phakisa Freeway Circuit in South Africa.

When he returns from the South African event, Fenton will compete in the Daytona Speedweeks 2010 opening event, the Lucas Oil Slick Mist 200 for the ARCA Racing Series on Feb. 6.
