Lap 400 -- CHECKERED FLAG: Kyle Busch dominated the first half of the race, fell back into the pack, but found the front when it mattered most as he wins the spring Richmond race two years in a row.

Lap 399 -- WHITE FLAG: Kyle Busch continues to lead.

Lap 398 -- Jeff Gordon holds off Kevin Harvick for second.

Lap 396 -- LEAD CHANGE: Kyle Busch takes the lead, passing Jeff Gordon after the restart.

Lap 395 -- GREEN FLAG: Jeff Gordon leads the field to green from the inside. Both Gordon and Kyle Busch have strong restarts.

Lap 393 -- Eight cars are one lap down.

Lap 392 -- Jeff Gordon will lead the field to green, followed by Kyle Busch and Kevin Harvick. Dale Earnhardt Jr. is three laps down.

Lap 390 -- Pit road is open as 17 cars are on the lead lap. Juan Montoya pits, reports the car is too loose and takes four tires. Denny Hamlin pits, gets new tires. Clint Bowyer pits again with another adjustment.

Lap 389 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 6: Sam Hornish Jr. hits the inside wall on the back straightaway.

Lap 386 -- Kevin Harvick continues to race Kyle Busch hard from the outside. Jeff Gordon has a strong restart and maintains the lead.

Lap 385 -- GREEN FLAG: Jeff Gordon leads the field to green. Kyle Busch is fighting Kevin Harvick for second.

Lap 379 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 5: David Ragan gets into Sam Hornish Jr. and spins in Turn 2. Seventeen cars will be on the lead lap during the restart. Jimmie Johnson heads back to pit road and gets four new tires. Clint Bowyer pits, gets a chassis adjustment. A.J. Allmendinger pits.

Lap 377 -- GREEN FLAG: Jeff Gordon leads the field to green, followed by Jeff Burton. Kevin Harvick has a good restart and is in third.

Lap 375 -- One lap to go until green.

Lap 374 -- Ryan Newman moves into fifth. Kyle Busch drops to sixth.

Lap 373 -- Pit road is open. Jeff Gordon has led 576 total laps this season, the most of any driver. Denny Hamlin, in sixth, pits. Jimmie Johnson pits, gets four tires. Hamlin calls for one more adjustment.

Lap 371 -- Sixteen cars will be on the lead lap on the restart.

Lap 370 -- Pit road is still closed under caution as the wrecker works to remove Elliott Sadler's car from near the entrance.

Lap 369 -- Elliott Sadler can't make it to pit road and has the wrecker heading his way. Brad Keselowski gets the free pass.

Lap 367 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 4: Elliott Sadler blows a tire and goes sliding across the track. Sadler is trying to get to pit road under his own power. Kasey Kahne and Joey Logano continue to connect but both save their cars.

Lap 364 -- Jeff Gordon pits, maintains his lead under green. Gordon has a 2.5-second lead over Jeff Burton. Mark Martin is penalized for exiting pit road too fast. Martin is one lap down in 26th.

Lap 363 -- Several cars on the lead lap begin to pit.

Lap 361 -- Paul Menard leaves pit road leaving behind a lug nut, earning a penalty. Denny Hamlin pits. Clint Bowyer pits and asks for major chassis adjustments.

Lap 358 -- Marcos Ambrose passes Martin Truex Jr. to claim the sixth spot. Joey Logano and Kasey Kahne brush against each other but no caution is called.

Lap 357 -- Juan Montoya remains in fourth but is more than 12 seconds behind leader Jeff Gordon.

Lap 355 -- Marcos Ambrose moves up to seventh.

Lap 352 -- Jeff Gordon has opened up a 4.7-second lead over Jeff Burton. Jamie McMurray heads to pit road. Greg Biffle pits. The top 15 elect not to pit. Clint Bowyer and Jimmie Johnson do battle for ninth.

Lap 348 -- Martin Truex Jr. began the race in 26th but has moved up to sixth after fighting off Denny Hamlin for the spot.

Lap 347 -- Juan Montoya moves up to fourth, passing Kyle Busch.

Lap 344 -- Kyle Busch remains in fourth after starting the race from the pole.

Lap 343 -- Jeff Burton passes his teammate Kevin Harvick, earning the second spot.

Lap 341 -- Marcos Ambrose moves up to ninth.

Lap 336 -- Fourteen cars are now on the lead lap. Joey Logano is the last driver to go a lap down. Matt Kenseth is the last driver on the lead lap.

Lap 333 -- Jeff Gordon increases his lead over Kevin Harvick to 3 seconds. Steve Letarte, crew chief for Jeff Gordon, reports at least one more pit stop before the end of the race.

Lap 330 -- Marcos Ambrose breaks into the top 10 after starting the race in 20th.

Lap 325 -- Clint Bowyer drops to 10th. Bowyer started the race in the same position.

Lap 323 -- Kevin Harvick, in second, drops 2.9 seconds off of the leader, Jeff Gordon.

Lap 321 -- Jeff Gordon puts Jamie McMurray a lap down.

Lap 319 -- Joey Logano passes Jamie McMurray, moves into 16th. McMurray is now the last care on the lead lap, in danger of going a lap down.

Lap 315 -- Denny Hamlin reports a tight car. Starting in 30th, Hamlin is currently in eighth.

Lap 311 -- Joey Logano is in danger of going a lap down. Seventeen cars are racing on the lead lap.

Lap 308 -- Jeff Gordon, Kevin Harvick and Jeff Burton are racing 1-2-3 and separate themselves from Kyle Busch, in fourth.

Lap 306 -- Juan Montoya moves up to fifth, passing Jimmie Johnson. Montoya reports a need for more forward bite on the car.

Lap 305 -- Brian Vickers goes a lap down.

Lap 304 -- Brian Vickers is in danger of going a lap down as Jeff Gordon makes his approach.

Lap 302 -- Jeff Gordon now has a 3-second lead over Kevin Harvick.

Lap 300 -- There are 18 cars on the lead lap. Ten cars are one lap down.

Lap 299 -- Martin Truex Jr. moves up to seventh, passing Clint Bowyer.

Lap 297 -- Jeff Gordon increases his lead over Kevin Harvick.

Lap 294 -- Juan Montoya takes sixth place from Clint Bowyer. Montoya started the race in 19th.

Lap 291 -- Jeff Gordon continues to lead Kevin Harvick by 2.1 seconds.

Lap 290 -- Carl Edwards moves up to 10th.

Lap 286 -- Mark Martin, making his 49th Richmond start, drops to 24th from eighth after his pit stop. His team dropped a lug nut.

Lap 285 -- Brad Keselowski goes a lap down.

Lap 280 -- Twenty-one cars are on the lead lap as Brad Keselowski is in danger of going a lap down.

Lap 278 -- Jimmie Johnson passes Kyle Busch, moves into fourth.

Lap 275 -- Kevin Harvick moves into second, followed by Jeff Burton.

Lap 273 -- Tony Stewart heads to pit road and may go two laps down when he leaves.

Lap 272 -- LEAD CHANGE: Jeff Gordon finds the lead again.

Lap 271 -- LEAD CHANGE: Tony Stewart takes the lead but is hoping for a caution, racing on old tires.

Lap 270 -- Denny Hamlin pits, reports his car is tight.

Lap 268 -- LEAD CHANGE: Carl Edwards takes the lead. Kyle Busch gets four new tires after spinning the old ones in the corner.

Lap 267 -- Jeff Gordon pits, gets an air pressure change and tires.

Lap 266 -- LEAD CHANGE: Kevin Harvick stays out on the track and takes the lead.

Lap 263 -- Kyle Busch holds off Jimmie Johnson in fourth. Brad Keselowski pits and gets four tires. A.J. Allmendinger pits. Matt Kenseth pits.

Lap 261 -- Jeff Burton is closing the gap on Jeff Gordon, who currently leads the field.

Lap 260 -- Most cars are reporting slower lap times than at the start of the race.

Lap 258 -- Jimmie Johnson reports his car feels like his car has fallen off a cliff and gotten tighter.

Lap 257 -- Twenty-five cars are back on the lead lap. Kyle Busch is preparing to pit, asks to come in early.

Lap 255 -- Kyle Busch drops to fourth.

Lap 253 -- Jeff Gordon is adding to his total as the current driver with the most laps led at Richmond.

Lap 252 -- Kyle Busch reports a problem and said he could hit pit road soon.

Lap 250 -- LEAD CHANGE: Jeff Gordon takes the lead.

Lap 247 -- Jeff Gordon is closing on Jeff Burton, now trailing by only .2 seconds.

Lap 242 -- There are five cars in the top 10 which started outside the top 15: first-place Jeff Burton (started 17th), sixth-place Juan Montoya (19th), Denny Hamlin (30th) in eighth place, Carl Edwards (28th) in ninth and Martin Truex Jr. (26th) in 10th.

Lap 240 -- Kyle Busch has fallen to third as Jeff Gordon passes him to move into second behind Jeff Burton.

Lap 235 -- Richard Childress Racing has all three of its cars in the top five, with Jeff Burton leading, Kevin Harvick fourth and Clint Bowyer fifth.

Lap 231 -- Jeff Burton has led seven Cup races this season, including Richmond. Jeff Gordon says his car is bad, reports brake trouble.

Lap 230 -- LEAD CHANGE: Jeff Burton gets past Kyle Busch for the lead.

Lap 227 -- Jeff Burton continues his charge and is now on the bumper of Kyle Busch. Busch and team are still trying to figure out what the cause of the smoke is coming from his car.

Lap 225 -- Kyle Busch holds off Jeff Burton as the two fight through lapped traffic.

Lap 221 -- Casey Mears is in danger of going a lap down.

Lap 218 -- Jimmie Johnson drops to seventh. Twenty-eight cars are on the lead lap.

Lap 215 -- Jeff Burton and Jeff Gordon do battle for second.

Lap 214 -- Kyle Busch reports the care is slower after his last lap.

Lap 211 -- Smoke is coming out of the back of Kyle Busch's car as Busch and team try to figure out if there are any issues with the engine.

Lap 208 -- Dale Earnhardt Jr. is moving his back back up through the field on fresh tires. David Gilliland goes a lap down.

Lap 207 -- Kevin Harvick remains frustrated with his crew, letting them have it over the radio after a poor pit stop.

Lap 200 -- Dale Earnhardt Jr. leaves pit road, two laps down. Kyle Busch remains in the lead, holding off Jeff Burton. Kevin Harvick moves up to sixth after a slow pit stop.

Lap 199 -- Dale Earnhardt Jr. is on pit road with a tire going down after he connected with Paul Menard.

Lap 197 -- Jeff Gordon moves back into third, chasing Jeff Burton in second. Jimmie Johnson moves up to seventh.

Lap 195 -- Bobby Labonte goes a lap down, with 30 drivers now on the lead lap.

Lap 193 -- Jeff Burton remains in second.

Lap 189 -- Jamie McMurray runs the high line with a loose car, maintains the 11th position.

Lap 187 -- Martin Truex Jr. battles Brad Keselowski on the lead lap for 19th.

Lap 182 -- Ryan Newman and Kasey Kahne are fighting for ninth. Kevin Harvick and Jamie McMurray are making their charge toward the top 10.

Lap 181 -- Thirty cars are now back on the lead lap. Martin Truex Jr. got the free pass on the last caution. Juan Montoya moves up to fourth.

Lap 178 -- Cautions have helped to tighten the field up. Jeff Burton moved up to third after starting 17th, then passed Jeff Gordon for second.

Lap 177 -- LEAD CHANGE: Kyle Busch reclaims the lead. Jeff Gordon is racing the No. 18 from the inside.

Lap 176 -- GREEN FLAG: Ryan Newman leads the field to green, followed by Kyle Busch on the outside. Jeff Gordon passes Ryan Newman.

Lap 172 -- LEAD CHANGE: Ryan Newman earns the lead after taking just two tires.

Lap 171 -- Leaders head to pit road. Jeff Burton gets another air pressure change. Kevin Harvick gets four tires. Kyle Busch gets a wedge and track-bar adjustment.

Lap 170 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 3: Debris on the backstretch. A water bottle has found its way onto the track.

Lap 169 -- Brad Keselowski touches A.J. Allmendinger as tires begin to show their wear. Jimmie Johnson has now moved into eighth.

Lap 166 -- Jeff Gordon has closed the gap between he and Kyle Busch and is now making a charge for the lead. Twenty-seven cars are now back on the lead lap.

Lap 160 -- GREEN FLAG: Kyle Busch leads the field to green.

Lap 159 -- Eighteen cars will take the wave around when the field goes back to green. Twenty-seven cars will be on the lead lap.

Lap 151 -- Just nine cars are on the lead lap now, as Jimmie Johnson remains in danger of becoming the next driver to go a lap down.

Lap 150 -- Mark Martin reports his car is getting much better over the long run and makes no adjustment on pit road.

Lap 146 -- After his pit stop, Kyle Busch had doubled his lead over Jeff Gordon to 8 seconds. Mark Martin nearly gets locked up in Turn 3.

Lap 145 -- LEAD CHANGE: Jeff Gordon heads to the pits as Kyle Busch reclaims the lead. Jimmie Johnson is fighting off Busch to avoid going a lap down.

Lap 144 -- Kevin Harvick pits, asks for an air pressure change. No chassis adjustment is needed.

Lap 143 -- LEAD CHANGE: Jeff Gordon takes the lead. Kyle Busch pits and gets a wedge adjustment.

Lap 139 -- Kyle Busch is approaching his brother Kurt, who is in danger of becoming the next driver to go a lap down.

Lap 137 -- Kasey Kahne has gone a lap down.

Lap 136 -- Kyle Busch and Jeff Gordon are separating themselves from the field as the race approaches green-flag pit stops. Kevin Harvick, in third, is now 12 seconds of the lead.

Lap 134 -- Seventeen drivers are now on the lead lap. Kasey Kahne is close to going a lap down. Reed Sorenson is out of the race.

Lap 130 -- Kevin Harvick remains in third but is more than 10 seconds off the lead.

Lap 128 -- Drivers are getting close to green-flag pit stops.

Lap 126 -- Joey Logano goes a lap down, leaving 19 cars on the lead lap.

Lap 125 -- Jimmie Johnson and Brad Keselowski do battle for 14th. Johnson holds Keselowski off through Turn 2.

Lap 122 -- Carl Edwards is moving up some and currently is in 12th after starting 28th.

Lap 117 -- Brian Vickers is one lap down, with Matt Kenseth next in Kyle Busch's sights.

Lap 114 -- Denny Hamlin (14th) has picked up 16 spots since the start, making him the biggest forward mover of the race.

Lap 111 -- Greg Biffle and Dale Earnhardt Jr. go one lap down, leaving only 22 cars on the lead lap.

Lap 109 -- Jeff Gordon said he's sliding all over the track, and he now trails Kyle Busch by nearly 5 seconds.

Lap 107 -- Jimmie Johnson continues to struggle. He and crew chief Chad Knaus are at odds about how to improve the car.

Lap 105 -- Kyle Busch has put Paul Menard and David Ragan one lap down, and he's coming up on Greg Biffle and Dale Earnhardt Jr. There are 24 cars on the lead lap.

Lap 103 -- Juan Montoya is up to seventh, a 12-spot improvement from the start.

Lap 100 -- And just like that, Kyle Busch's lead grows back to nearly 3.5 seconds on Jeff Gordon.

Lap 97 -- Kyle Busch is closing in on Regan Smith, which will leave just 26 cars on the lead lap with the race not even one-fourth of the way done.

Lap 88 -- Clint Bowyer is trapped in fifth after making a strong move on the last restart.

Lap 73 -- Kyle Busch has widened his lead to almost 3 seconds. Only three cars are within 5 seconds of the leader.

Lap 70 -- Kyle Busch puts David Gilliland a lap down. Thirty-five cars remain on the lead lap.

Lap 68 -- Clint Bowyer moves up to fifth after starting 10th.

Lap 66 -- Kyle Busch opens up a 2.3-second lead over Jeff Gordon.

Lap 64 -- Dale Earnhardt Jr. maintains his position in the middle of the pack, currently running in 22nd after starting 25th.

Lap 55 -- Juan Montoya moves up to eighth after starting 19th.

Lap 52 -- Jeff Gordon and Jamie McMurray battle each other for third. Gordon gets past. Clint Bowyer is making a charge on Jamie McMurray, in fourth.

Lap 49 -- GREEN FLAG: Kyle Busch leads the field to green. Jimmie Johnson dropped to 13th from seventh with a 17.6-second pit stop.

Lap 48 -- Officials reporting one lap to green.

Lap 47 -- Kyle Busch remains the leader, followed by Kevin Harvick, Jamie McMurray, Jeff Gordon and David Reutimann.

Lap 45 -- Jimmie Johnson and Chad Knaus believe their car is slow, take four tires. Kyle Busch gets a wedge adjustment. Jeff Gordon gets a spring rubber in the right rear as drivers race off of pit road. Scott Speed gets the free pass.

Lap 42 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 1: Joe Nemechek heads into the wall after blowing a right-front tire. Drivers pit.

Lap 41 -- Jeff Gordon has dropped behind leader Kyle Busch by almost two seconds.

Lap 39 -- Jamie McMurray maintains his position in fifth after starting eighth.

Lap 37 -- Ryan Newman drops to seventh after starting fifth.

Lap 35 -- Jeff Gordon has closed the gap on Kyle Busch and is working to close on the leader.

Lap 34 -- Jimmie Johnson reports his car is loose.

Lap 33 -- Kevin Harvick moves up to third.

Lap 31 -- Carl Edwards has gone from 28th to 20th in 22 laps.

Lap 30 -- Brad Keselowski drops to ninth after starting sixth.

Lap 28 -- Mark Martin moves into the top 10 after starting 14th.

Lap 6 -- Jeff Gordon moves up to second.

Lap 5 -- Jeff Gordon fights for second against David Reutimann.

Lap 2 -- Jeff Gordon moves up a spot to third.

Lap 1 -- Kyle Busch gets a big jump to lead the field.

7:46 p.m. -- GREEN FLAG: Kyle Busch brings the field to the green as the 400-lap Crown Royal 400 is under way.

7:41 p.m. -- The cars are rolling off pit road for their warm-up laps.

7:38 p.m. -- Heath Calhoun gives the command: "Gentlemen, start your engines!"

7:31 p.m. -- The Commandants own United States Marine Drum & Bugle perform the national anthem.

7:30 p.m. -- Joe Ellison, from Essex Village Community Church, delivers the Invocation.

7 p.m. -- FOX's pre-race coverage of the Crown Royal 400 is under way.

5:56 p.m. ET -- It's a beautiful day for racing at Richmond, with the temperature hovering around 88 degrees. The temperature should drop into the low 80s by the time the Crown Royal 400 goes green at 7:44 p.m. Kyle Busch will lead the field when the green flag drops.
