Lap 490 -- Kyle Busch has a 2.49 second lead over the field.

Lap 484 -- Dale Earnhardt Jr. drops to 13th and is the last car on the lead lap. Junior continues to fight handling issues.

Lap 482 -- Ryan Newman -- in sixth -- holds up Juan Montoya during a challenge for the position. Montoya moves to the low side but can't get it done.

Lap 445 -- Kyle Busch continues to increase his lead over David Reutimann. Busch leads the field by 1.8 seconds.

Lap 441 -- Jamie McMurray has not been able to get around David Reutimann for second and Kasey Kahne is challenging for a pot in the top three.

Lap 436 -- Jimmie Johnson moves over for Kyle Busch as the No. 18 finds lapped traffic.

Lap 434 -- Kyle Busch puts some distance between his No. 18 and David Reutimann, leading the field by more than 1.5 seconds.

Lap 431 -- Kasey Kahne has recovered well from earlier trouble and finds the fourth spot, passing Clint Bowyer, who rounds out the top five.

Lap 383 -- Kasey Kahne slows, heads to pit road with a tire down.

Lap 373 -- Brad Keselowski is the last car on the lead lap as Kyle Busch -- in the lead -- closes in on the No. 12.

Lap 371 -- Sam Hornish Jr. goes a lap down, heads to pit road.

Lap 369 -- Kyle Busch clears lapped traffic before Jamie McMurray and is able to widen his lead over the field.

Lap 366 -- Clint Bowyer is running in fourth but challenged by Juan Montoya. He holds the position through the turn.

Lap 363 -- Mark Martin goes a lap down as Jamie McMurray finds the bumper of Kyle Busch.

Lap 360 -- Joey Logano, despite a loose car all evening, has moved into 11th and giving Kurt Busch a run for his money.

Lap 358 -- Jamie McMurray is closing on Kyle Busch and appears to have the faster car.

Lap 353 -- Paul Menard -- in 20th -- is the last car on the lead lap.

Lap 350 -- Kasey Kahne moves into sixth and is challenging Juan Montoya for fifth.

Lap 345 -- Kyle Busch maintains a 1.57 second lead over second place. Matt Kenseth has pulled down pit road after running eighth with tire issues.

Lap 343 -- Jamie McMurray passes David Reutimann for second.

Lap 339 -- Jamie McMurray is flying around the track and moves into third. The No. 1 -- despite three penalties -- continues to post some of the fastest laps of the race.

Lap 337 -- Reed Sorenson goes a lap down.

Lap 329 -- Twenty-one cars remain on the lead lap.

Lap 327 -- David Reutimann is closing the gap on Kyle Busch but will have to weave through lapped traffic in order to make a move. Jeff Gordon rounds out the top 10.

Lap 322 -- Jimmie Johnson is still in the garage having repairs to the suspension done on the No. 48 -- but the car is close to making it back on the track.

Lap 320 -- Jeff Green is the last car on the lead lap.

Lap 317 -- Kyle Busch works through lapped traffic and owns a 1.2 second lead over David Reutimann.

Lap 313 -- Clint Bowyer remains the biggest mover of the race, moving up 24 spots since the start of the race. Bowyer currently has the third spot.

Lap 310 -- Matt Kenseth passes Dale Earnhardt Jr. for seventh.

Lap 306 -- Kurt Busch and Jeff Burton are trading the 11th spot. Busch holds through the corner and claims the position.

Lap 302 -- Jeff Gordon goes around A.J. Allmendinger to hold the 10th spot through lapped traffic.

Lap 300 -- Jeff Gordon rounds out the top 10 and is trying to make a move on the low side to pass Kasey Kahne.

Lap 297 -- Jeff Burton finds the 12th spot and is on the bumper of Kurt Busch.

Lap 295 -- David Reutimann is holding onto second but Clint Bowyer is closing the gap.

Lap 290 -- Clint Bowyer has an 88 point margin in the standings over Mark Martin at this point in the race.

Lap 289 -- Kyle Busch increases his lead to 1.75 seconds. Denny Hamlin is back out on the track, 26 laps down.

Lap 286 -- After starting the race in 27th, Dale Earnhardt Jr. has made his way into the seventh spot.

Lap 282 -- Jamie McMurray settles into sixth.

Lap 279 -- Kevin Harvick is bogged down in 24th as Kyle Busch opens up a 1.48 second lead over David Reutimann.

Lap 276 -- Kyle Busch has a command of the lead. Carl Edwards had to return to pit road with three loose lugnuts -- losing 22 positions.

Lap 271 -- Things are starting to pick up as Ryan Newman rounds out the top five. Greg Biffle is struggling to control his car out of the corners. Mark Martin is running toward the back with Clint Bowyer running in third.

Lap 267 -- GREEN FLAG: Kyle Busch leads the field to green, followed by David Reutimann, Clint Bowyer and Juan Montoya.

Lap 266 -- Jimmie Johnson's car is headed to the garage for more repairs. A split oil cooler needs to be replaced.

Lap 265 -- Denny Hamlin is behind the wall with a vibration in the No. 11. Jimmie Johnson goes two laps down.

Lap 264 -- Jimmie Johnson is on pit road as his crew bangs on the No. 48 with a hammer.

Lap 262 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 6: Jimmie Johnson gets turned and is into the wall after leading 175 laps. Juan Montoya may have hooked the No. 48.

Lap 261 -- GREEN FLAG: Kyle Busch leads the field to green from the outside, followed by Jimmie Johnson, Juan Montoya, David Reutimann and Clint Bowyer. Twenty-seven cars are on the lead lap.

Lap 258 -- Kyle Busch will lead the field to green, followed by Jimmie Johnson in second.

Lap 254 -- Kyle Busch pits, takes four tires. Jimmie Johnson is loose, gets an air adjustment. Juan Montoya picks up a spot. Ryan Newman loses three spot.

Lap 253 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 5: Bobby Labonte is into the wall. Sam Hornish Jr. gets the free pass.

Lap 252 -- The track is getting black as cars lay more rubber.

Lap 248 -- Denny Hamlin finds the 10th spot, passing Kurt Busch.

Lap 245 -- Kyle Busch maintains a 2.5 second lead.

Lap 240 -- David Reutimann is on the bumper of Jimmie Johnson, but the move opens the door for Carl Edward to make a charge.

Lap 239 -- Kyle Busch holds a 2.5 second lead over Jimmie Johnson.

Lap 236 -- Clint Bower passes Kurt Busch for ninth.

Lap 234 -- Marcos Ambrose passes Mark Martin for 19th. Joey Logano is fighting a loose car and doesn't seem comfortable in the car.

Lap 233 -- Jamie McMurray is running as high as you can on the track and charging for 11th.

Lap 232 -- Kasey Kahne is working the inside for 13th as Denny Hamlin holds onto 12th.

Lap 230 -- Clint Bowyer finds the top 10 again.

Lap 226 -- Kyle Busch started the race in 19th but has put himself in the perfect position to earn the trifecta at Bristol. He'll have to hold off plenty of cars still improving as the track conditions change.

Lap 221 -- Jimmie Johnson is closing on Kyle Busch but needs to make up some time through lapped traffic.

Lap 219 -- Carl Edwards moves into fourth and fighting off Juan Montoya for the spot.

Lap 215 -- Jimmie Johnson gets around David Reutimann for second. Kyle Busch posts the fastest lap and opens up a 1.35 second lead over the field.

Lap 213 -- Tony Stewart spins, hits the wall but saves the car, loses momentum.

Lap 211 -- Clint Bowyer continues to move toward the front and claims the 12th spot.

Lap 209 -- Dale Earnhardt Jr. finds the top 10.

Lap 206 -- Jimmie Johnson tries to peek underneath David Reutimann but can't claim the second spot.

Lap 204 -- David Reutimann and his car are more than healthy as he challenges Kyle Busch for the lead.

Lap 202 -- David Reutimann is aggressive in second after passing Jimmie Johnson.

Lap 201 -- LEAD CHANGE: Kyle Busch gets ahead as Jimmie Johnson gives up the lead.

Lap 199 -- GREEN FLAG: Jimmie Johnson leads the field to green and runs three-wide into the turn with Kyle Busch and David Reutimann.

Lap 196 -- LEAD CHANGE: Jimmie Johnson took four tires and beat Kyle Busch off of pit road -- using the last pit box to his advantage.

Lap 195 -- David Reutimann pits with a loose car. Kyle Busch is loose in traffic but fine out front, doesn't want adjustments. Ryan Newman is losing confidence in the car, gets a wedge adjustment. Jimmie Johnson wants his car tightened up.

Lap 194 -- Just before the caution, David Reutimann was able to get around Jimmie Johnson for second.

Lap 192 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 4: Scott Speed is into the wall with a tire down. Speed was running in 25th.

Lap 190 -- Travis Kvapil is running in 28th but is in danger of going a lap down.

Lap 187 -- Kyle Busch opens up a .96 second lead over Jimmie Johnson.

Lap 182 -- A.J. Allmendinger goes two laps down. Jimmie Johnson is charging for the lead.

Lap 179 -- Kasey Kahne joins the party and claims 14th after an earlier penalty on pit road.

Lap 178 -- Dale Earnhardt Jr. cracks the top 10 after starting the race in 27th.

Lap 175 -- Jimmie Johnson is in pursuit on the low side of the track but Kyle Busch has command of the lead.

Lap 172 -- LEAD CHANGE: Kyle Busch uses lapped traffic to his advantage and makes a nice pass on Jimmie Johnson.

Lap 170 -- Despite falling back after sustaining damage, Tony Stewart is calm on the radio and tells his team they have plenty of time left to find the front.

Lap 166 -- Jimmie Johnson had led all but two laps at this point. Jeff Gordon is the biggest man on the move, climbing up to eighth.

Lap 165 -- Ryan Newman rounds out the top five, holding off a charge from Martin Truex Jr.

Lap 163 -- Jimmie Johnson and Kyle Busch are weaving through lapped traffic but both drivers are holding their pace on the track.

Lap 161 -- Twenty-eight cars remain on the lead lap.

Lap 158 -- All four Hendrick cars are running in the top 12.

Lap 157 -- Jeff Gordon is charging toward the front and running in eighth after starting 26th.

Lap 153 -- Kevin Harvick is barking at his crew to figure out the adjustments they need. "We don't know what we're doing. Leave the air alone," Harvick said.

Lap 151 -- Mark Martin finds the 11th spot, followed by Dale Earnhardt. Jr.

Lap 147 -- Clint Bowyer has worked his way back into 21st after a tough pit stop.

Lap 145 -- Ryan Newman is fighting off a pack of cars for fifth, including Matt Kenseth, Martin Truex Jr. and Jeff Gordon.

Lap 143 -- David Reutimann holds onto third.

Lap 142 -- Greg Biffle moves into 11th after starting 21st.

Lap 141 -- Kyle Busch files behind Jimmie Johnson and is on his bumper.

Lap 140 -- GREEN FLAG: Jimmie Johnson leads the field to green, followed by Kyle Busch, Carl Edwards, David Reutimann and Martin Truex Jr.

Lap 136 -- Kyle Busch has moved into second and will challenge for the lead when the field goes green.

Lap 134 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 3: Regan Smith is into the wall. He was running in 29th.

Lap 130 -- GREEN FLAG: Jimmie Johnson leads the field to green. Clint Bowyer is penalized for speeding. Jamie McMurray returns to pit road after missing lugnuts. Bowyer drops to 26th.

Lap 129 -- Tony Stewart has given up a lot of track position due to damage sustained to the rear of the No. 14. Jeff Green gets the free pass.

Lap 128 -- Jimmie Johnson leads the cars to pit road. David Reutimann is loose with no rear grip, gets four tires. Carl Edwards is free, wants wedge adjustment, four tires, fuel. Tony Stewart takes four tires, fuel. Ryan Newman is free, gets track bar adjustment. Jimmie Johnson gets a wedge adjustment, more air in the tires.

Lap 127 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 2: David Ragan is on pit road, followed by Tony Stewart. Carl Edwards got into Stewart in what appears to be an attempt to check up.

Lap 121 -- Jimmie Johnson is holding onto the lead. Sam Hornish Jr. has brushed the wall and headed to pit road.

Lap 119 -- Dale Earnhardt Jr.. moves up seven spots to 20th. Junior reports the car is getting better as the race progresses.

Lap 116 -- It's finally dark at Bristol as track conditions continue to change.

Lap 114 -- Kyle Busch is getting his car off the corner really well as David Reutimann appears to be fighting a loose car out of the turns.

Lap 112 -- Martin Truex Jr. is in seventh after starting the race in ninth.

Lap 110 -- Clint Bowyer is back up to 11th and is the biggest mover of the evening.

Lap 109 -- Kyle Busch is on the bumper of David Reutimann but can't pass and claim the fifth spot.

Lap 107 -- Jimmie Johnson has a .65 second lead over Tony Stewart.

Lap 105 -- Clint Bowyer and Mark Martin have found each other and do battle for 13th.

Lap 102 -- Kurt Busch rounds out the top 10 and holds off a charge from Matt Kenseth.

Lap 100 -- Elliott Sadler goes two laps down.

Lap 98 -- Carl Edwards is coming in his Ford, challenging Tony Stewart for second.

Lap 72 -- Ryan Newman holds onto fourth, still trying to pass Carl Edwards.

Lap 69 -- Needing to hold points, Clint Bowyer is in ninth and Mark martin is in 16th.

Lap 68 -- Kurt and Kyle Busch do battle for ninth.

Lap 65 -- Kasey Kahne is penalized for leaving pit road too fast.

Lap 64 -- Ryan Newman tries to pass on the high side but can't claim third from Carl Edwards.

Lap 63 -- LEAD CHANGE: Jimmie Johnson takes the lead back, moves to the bottom.

Lap 62 -- LEAD CHANGE: Tony Stewart passes Jimmie Johnson on fresh tires.

Lap 61 -- GREEN FLAG: Jimmie Johnson leads the field to green on the high side.

Lap 60 -- Travis Kvapil is given the free pass, putting 31 cars on the lead lap.

Lap 58 -- Clint Bowyer picks up 12 spots on pit road.

Lap 57 -- Jimmie Johnson leads the field down pit road. Jamie McMurray calls the car good with strong forward bite but overshoots his pit box. Carl Edwards wants the car tightened. Tony Stewart is tight but getting better. Ryan Newman is tight, calls for chassis adjustment. Jimmie Johnson gets fuel, reports the car is rolling free and loves the car.

Lap 56 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 1: David Gilliland cooks his tire and gets up against the wall.

Lap 55 -- Tony Stewart holds off a charge from Carl Edwards for third.

Lap 51 -- Kurt Busch is making a move after starting 20th. Busch is currently in 12th and doing battle with Martin Truex Jr.

Lap 48 -- Matt Kenseth holds on to 10th. He started 14th.

Lap 47 -- Jimmie Johnson puts Travis Kvapil a lap down.

Lap 45 -- Kevin Harvick started 28th and is creeping toward the front. Jimmie Johnson has led every lap.

Lap 43 -- Marcos Ambrose holds on to 20th, fighting off a charge by Jeff Gordon.

Lap 41 -- Clint Bowyer needs to find a way to save his brakes. They're running hot.

Lap 38 -- Juan Montoya cracks the top five, passing David Reutimann. Greg Biffle and Jeff Gordon do battle near the rear of the field.

Lap 35 -- Juan Montoya is trying to pass David Reutimann on the high side but can't claim the fifth spot.

Lap 34 -- David Reutimann reports the car is loose when he gets on the gas.

Lap 32 -- Denny Hamlin has fallen back to 23rd.

Lap 31 -- Paul Menard moves up another spot to ninth.

Lap 29 -- Michael McDowell and Robby Gordon have gone behind the wall.

Lap 27 -- Juan Montoya moves into sixth.

Lap 15 -- Carl Edwards holds off a charge for third from Ryan Newman.

Lap 10 -- Martin Truex Jr. drops out of the top 10.

Lap 8 -- Jimmie Johnson continues to lead the field. Kyle Busch passes Brad Keselowski. Both give each other plenty of room on the track.

Lap 5 -- Kyle Busch finds Brad Keselowski on the track and is on his bumper.

Lap 4 -- Ryan Newman moves up to fourth, passing David Reutimann.

Lap 3 -- Tony Stewart charges into second, passes Carl Edwards.

Lap 1 -- Jimmie Johnson leads the first lap.

7:49 p.m. -- GREEN FLAG: Jimmie Johnson leads the field to green as the Irwin Tools Night Race is under way at Bristol.

7:45 p.m. -- The drivers are rolling off pit road for warm-up laps.

7:42 p.m. -- Delwyn Thorton gives the command: "Gentlemen, start your engines!"

7:31 p.m. -- Children of the drivers and pit crews perform the national anthem.

7:30 p.m. -- Ruth Graham delivers the Invocation.

7 p.m. -- NASCAR Countdown is under way on ABC.

5 p.m. ET -- It's a humid evening for Cup Series action at Bristol Motor Speedway. It's currently 75 degrees under light rain showers with a 30 percent chance of rain in the forecast tonight. Jimmie Johnson is on the pole when the green flies at 7:43 p.m. ET.
