Lap 334 -- CHECKERED FLAG: Jamie McMurray started the Bank of America 500 from the 27th position, made his way through the field as the race progressed, held off Chasers Kyle Busch and Jimmie Johnson at the end and made his third trip to Victory Lane in 2010.

Lap 333 -- WHITE FLAG: Jamie McMurray has a 2.05-second lead.

Lap 331 -- Jimmie Johnson is closing and jumping on the gas through Turn 4.

Lap 327 -- Kyle Busch reports he probably won't be able to hold off the No. 48 for second as he gives Jimmie Johnson the inside line.

Lap 324 -- With 10 laps to go, Jamie McMurray has a 1.37-second lead.

Lap 278 -- Kyle Busch has a 2.01-second lead over the field.

Lap 276 -- Regan Smith is running 18th and reports the car is improving.

Lap 274 -- A.J. Allmendinger feels the car is losing horsepower, saying cars are pulling away from him on the straightaway.

Lap 272 -- Mark Martin continues to hold off Scott Speed for 11th.

Lap 270 -- Jeff Burton remains the last car on the lead lap and he's running in the 24th spot. Martin Truex Jr. reports his car is getting faster and wants to make a few adjustments before the end of the race.

Lap 268 -- Scott Speed moves up to 12th,passing Carl Edwards for the position. Speed began the race in 21st.

Lap 266 -- David Reutimann rounds out the top five and is challenging Denny Hamlin for fourth.

Lap 263 -- Kyle Busch holds a .74-second lead over Jimmie Johnson.

Lap 261 -- Joey Logano passes Mark Martin for 10th as Matt Kenseth moves into eighth.

Lap 256 -- Jimmie Johnson and Kyle Busch are racing each other hard for the lead. Johnson posts the fastest lap of the race but Busch holds him off.

Lap 255 -- Kevin Harvick gets around Martin Truex Jr. for seventh.

Lap 252 -- Jimmie Johnson is on the bumper of Kyle Busch and Jamie McMurray has joined the fray to challenge for the lead.

Lap 251 -- Kyle Busch has another great restart and pulls ahead of Jimmie Johnson and maintains the lead.

Lap 250 -- GREEN FLAG: Kyle Busch leads the field to green with Jimmie Johnson at his side.

Lap 247 -- Jeff Burton has made his trip to pit road and is back on the track as the last car on the lead lap.

Lap 246 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 8: Jeff Burton gets loose and slides through the track. The cockpit of the car is filled with smoke and Burton is having a tough time making his way to pit road.

Lap 245 -- Kyle Busch holds off Jimmie Johnson near the start/finish line and maintains the lead.

Lap 244 -- Kyle Busch continues to be strong on the restart and leads the lap, followed by Jimmie Johnson, who slides into second.

Lap 243 -- GREEN FLAG: Kyle Busch leads the field to green, followed by Denny Hamlin, Jamie McMurray, Jimmie Johnson and Greg Biffle.

Lap 240 -- Lead lap cars head to pit road. Jamie McMurray is loose, gets an air adjustment, four tires. Jimmie Johnson is tight, makes a wedge adjustment. Denny Hamlin has a vibration and makes an adjustment. Kyle Busch pits, takes tires and wins another race off pit road.

Lap 239 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 7: Robby Gordon slides through the grass.

Lap 238 -- Jamie McMurray has closed the gap on Kyle Busch and is on the bumper of Kyle Busch. Busch does a good job of holding his line through the turns and isn't giving the No. 1 any room to mount a charge.

Lap 234 -- Chasers Tony Stewart and Jeff Gordon are running 21-22 and are soon to be in danger of going a lap down.

Lap 231 -- Kyle Busch has now led more than 4000 laps across NASCAR's top three series this season.

Lap 228 -- Greg Biffle is in fourth with a loose car but has to be more pleased than he and the team were last week. Meanwhile, Jimmie Johnson likes the way the No. 48 is handling and he's closing the gap on Biffle.

Lap 226 -- Denny Hamlin settles into third and is making a move on Jamie McMurray and the second spot.

Lap 221 -- Kyle Busch is turning the fastest laps at Charlotte and leading by 1.30 seconds.

Lap 218 -- Twenty-three cars remain on the lead lap. Kurt Busch is in 31st and running two laps down.

Lap 216 -- Jamie McMurray is holding onto second, pulling away from Greg Biffle in Turn 4.

Lap 215 -- Jimmie Johnson has settled into fifth and holding off teammate Mark Martin for the position.

Lap 211 -- Jeff Gordon reports the alternator isn't working at all and continues to be worried about power to the No. 24.

Lap 208 -- Denny Hamlin has found some speed and moved into fifth. Greg Biffle is on the bumper of Kyle Busch and starting to challenge for the lead. Jamie McMurray's No. 1 appears to have been tightened up as he makes a run toward the front.

Lap 206 -- GREEN FLAG: Kyle Busch leads the field to green and gets a good jump on the field.

Lap 205 -- LEAD CHANGE: Kyle Busch has another good pit stop and takes the lead. Jimmie Johnson will start from fifth at green.

Lap 204 -- Jimmie Johnson leads the field down pit road. Mark Martin is tight. Jimmie Johnson is tight, takes four tires. Kyle Busch gets an air adjustment and makes up a spot of pit road.

Lap 203 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 6: Marcos Ambrose spins near pit road. Jeff Gordon should get the free pass. Pit road will be open.

Lap 201 -- Kyle Busch is on the move and closing on Jimmie Johnson, cutting the lead to less than a second.

Lap 199 -- Matt Kenseth finds the 10th spot and holds off Greg Biffle who is making a charge from 11th.

Lap 197 -- Jimmie Johnson reports he is comfortable with the No. 48 and isn't calling for many adjustments.

Lap 195 -- Jimmie Johnson finds clean air and opens up a 1.36-second lead ahead of the field.

Lap 193 -- Jeff Gordon is now the last car on the lead lap and is in danger of going a lap down. Kurt Busch is two laps down.

Lap 190 -- Jeff Gordon loses power to the No. 24 and may not make it back to pit road.

Lap 189 -- LEAD CHANGE: "New leader, the 48," says Earl Barban.

Lap 188 -- Jamie McMurray reports the car is "really, really, really" loose.

Lap 186 -- Jimmie Johnson is closing on the No. 1 and Jamie McMurray, cutting the lead to less than a second.

Lap 184 -- Brad Keselowski goes a lap down. Twenty-three cars remain on the lead lap.

Lap 182 -- A.J. Allmendinger finds the top 10 again, passing Jeff Gordon.

Lap 180 -- Jimmie Johnson finds the second spot and is 2.12 seconds off the lead.

Lap 179 -- LEAD CHANGE: As the field cycles through pit stops, Jamie McMurray and the No. 1 find the front again. Jeff Burton is the last car on the lead lap. Denny Hamlin has now led his first lap of the Chase.

Lap 178 -- LEAD CHANGE: Greg Biffle stays out as Kevin Harvick pits.

Lap 177 -- LEAD CHANGE: Kevin Harvick stays out, leads the lap.

Lap 176 -- LEAD CHANGE: Joey Logano takes the lead as Denny Hamlin pits.

Lap 175 -- LEAD CHANGE: Denny Hamlin passes Kyle Busch for the lead.

Lap 174 -- Kyle Busch has led 113 laps at this point.

Lap 170 -- LEAD CHANGE: Kyle Busch stays out and takes the lead, followed by Denny Hamlin, Joey Logano and Jeff Gordon.

Lap 168 -- Martin Truex Jr. pits and takes an air adjustment, tires. Jimmie Johnson pits, takes four tires, fuel and an air pressure adjustment in 14.3 seconds. Juan Montoya pits, takes four tires. Jamie McMurray pits and takes four tires with a slight air adjustment. Mark martin takes four tires and fuel.

Lap 167 -- Juan Montoya holds onto 11th.

Lap 164 -- Jimmie Johnson and Kyle Busch continue to do battle for third, with the No. 48 at a slight advantage around the track at this point.

Lap 161 -- Jamie McMurray's lead is 3.87-seconds ahead of Mark Martin.

Lap 158 -- Jeff Gordon drops back to ninth. Kevin Harvick is in 10th and unhappy with the speed of the car, citing track position as the ultimate equalizer as the race progresses.

Lap 156 -- Denny Hamlin moves into fifth, passing Martin Truex Jr. Clint Bowyer had led one lap and is running in seventh.

Lap 152 -- Four cars are officially out of the race. Twenty-five cars remain on the lead lap. Mark Martin is pleased with the No. 5's setup despite being a little loose. Jimmie Johnson has fought his way back and running strong in third.

Lap 148 -- Mark Martin continues to lose ground on Jamie McMurray as the No. 1 opens up a 1.5-second lead.

Lap 146 -- Ryan Newman and team remain the garage, 59 laps down.

Lap 144 -- Jamie McMurray has increased his lead over Mark Martin by 1.25 seconds.

Lap 142 -- Jeff Gordon is in seventh and holding on as Clint Bowyer makes a charge for the position.

Lap 139 -- A.J. Allmendinger rounds out the top 10. Jeff Burton has dropped to 22nd and reports the car is very difficult to control.

Lap 138 -- Six Chasers are in the top 10, beginning with Jimmie Johnson in third.

Lap 136 -- LEAD CHANGE: Jamie McMurray takes the lead from Mark Martin.

Lap 134 -- Denny Hamlin passes Jeff Gordon for eighth.

Lap 133 -- Juan Montoya gets loose and loses positron as Jimmie Johnson and Kyle Busch blow by the No. 42.

Lap 132 -- Jamie McMurray is trying to run down Mark Martin and gets past Martin Truex Jr. for second.

Lap 131 -- GREEN FLAG: Mark Martin leads the field to green on the outside, followed by Martin Truex Jr., Jamie McMurray, Juan Montoya and Jimmie Johnson.

Lap 129 -- LEAD CHANGE: Mark Martin waits as other drivers cycle through their pit stops and takes the lead.

Lap 128 -- Jeff Gordon pits and doesn't take tires; he takes the lead away from Kyle Busch. Jimmie Johnson stays out and elects to improve on track position.

Lap 125 -- Twenty-five cars remain on the lead lap.

Lap 123 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 5: Kasey Kahne gets loose and hits the wall. Sam Hornish Jr. was at the wrong place at the wrong time and has sustained plenty of damage to the No. 77. Pit road is closed.

Lap 122 -- Jeff Gordon is closing on leader Kyle Busch.

Lap 119 -- Scott Speed goes a lap down.

Lap 118 -- Martin Truex Jr. and Juan Montoya do battle for seventh as Montoya holds his line through Turn 4 and maintain the spot.

Lap 117 -- Jeff Burton rounds out the top 10.

Lap 115 -- Greg Biffle shoots into second and is all over Kyle Busch for the lead. Denny Hamlin is running strong in fifth as Mark Martin makes a move on Jeff Gordon for third.

Lap 114 -- GREEN FLAG: Kyle Busch leads the field to green, followed by Jeff Gordon, Juan Montoya, Greg Biffle and Joey Logano.

Lap 111 -- Jimmie Johnson reports he and Clint Bowyer connected while leaving pit road.

Lap 110 -- Kyle Busch leads the field to pit road. Jeff Burton pits and is loose. Mark Martin makes a track bar adjustment. Juan Montoya gains 11 spots on pit road. Kyle Busch maintains the lead.

Lap 108 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 4: Debris.

Lap 105 -- Twenty-three cars remain on the lead lap. Kyle Busch reports the throttle is improving. He suspects a piece of rubber may have gotten stuck in the mechanism that controls the throttle. Crew members of the No. 18 seemed surprised by that, considering the car is brand new.

Lap 103 -- Greg Biffle started the race in 22nd and has found the 12th spot, charging toward David Reutimann for 11th.

Lap 101 -- Kyle Busch is making his way through lapped traffic. Regan Smith goes a lap down.

Lap 99 -- Paul Menard drops to eighth.

Lap 97 -- Despite issues with the throttle, Kyle Busch has been able to maintain his lead ahead of Jeff Gordon.

Lap 95 -- Big development: Kyle Busch reports his throttle is now sticking and is furious .He's using the cutoff switch in order to adapt around the track.

Lap 92 -- Paul Menard passes Kevin Harvick for seventh.

Lap 89 -- Jamie McMurray rounds out the top 10. Twenty-five cars remain on the lead lap.

Lap 87 -- Kyle Busch has opened up a 3.6-second lead ahead of Jeff Gordon, in second.

Lap 84 -- LEAD CHANGE: As the field cycles through, Kyle Busch reclaims the lead.

Lap 83 -- LEAD CHANGE: Patrick Carpentier stays out and takes the lead.

Lap 82 -- LEAD CHANGE: Clint Bowyer stays out as Kenseth pits.

Lap 81 -- LEAD CHANGE: Matt Kenseth stays out and takes the lead as Juan Montoya pits.

Lap 80 -- LEAD CHANGE: Juan Montoya stays out and takes the lead.

Lap 78 -- There is a small fuel fire at Carl Edwards pit stall. Jimmie Johnson takes four tires. Jeff Burton follows.

Lap 77 -- Greg Biffle is on pit road and is tight. Kyle Busch in on pit road and reduced tire pressure. Jeff Gordon reports a tight car when he's aggressive on the track.

Lap 76 -- David Reutimann pits, takes four tires and a wedge adjustment. Denny Hamlin is on pit road with a tight car, takes an air and track bar adjustment.

Lap 75 -- Tony Stewart is first to pit with a loose car, takes tires and fuel. Kevin Harvick takes four tires and wants an air adjustment. Kyle Busch still leads.

Lap 72 -- Jamie McMurray continues a move toward the front, up 16 spots since the start of the race and into 11th.

Lap 71 -- Jeff Burton moves back into fifth after passing Paul Menard.

Lap 68 -- Travis Kvapil goes a lap down. Thirty-four cars remain on the lead lap.

Lap 65 -- Kevin Harvick says he likes the long green flag runs and is glad they took two tires instead of four. He went on to report that the car is starting to get loose in the turns.

Lap 63 -- Lead-lap cars are getting close to green-flag pit stops. Kasey Kahne reports a vibration in one of the wheels.

Lap 61 -- Jeff Burton moves into seventh after starting the race in 18th.

Lap 59 -- Kyle Busch is more than pleased with the car and has maintained a 1.9-second lead ahead of Jeff Gordon for more than a few laps.

Lap 57 -- Denny Hamlin moves up to ninth and eyeing Martin Truex Jr. for the eighth spot.

Lap 56 -- Jimmie Johnson is making his way through the field and is in 28th after spinning and having to make a trip to pit road.

Lap 55 -- Kevin Harvick remains in fifth after moving up 19 spots since the start of the race.

Lap 52 -- Joey Logano can't close the gap on Jeff Gordon and remains in third.

Lap 50 -- Kyle Busch continues to lead as Joey Logano makes a charge toward Jeff Gordon in second.

Lap 48 -- Denny Hamlin cracks the top 10 as Kyle Busch opens up a 1.9-second lead over Jeff Gordon.

Lap 47 -- Juan Montoya is carrying a lot of speed but has trash on the grill and temperatures are rising on the car.

Lap 45 -- Carl Edwards rounds out the top 10 and Denny Hamlin has found 11th after starting in 23rd.

Lap 42 -- Ryan Newman remains behind the wall.

Lap 39 -- Kevin Harvick finds the top five and is doing battle with Mark Martin for fourth.

Lap 37 -- GREEN FLAG: Three-wide action as Kyle Busch leads the field to green followed by Jeff Gordon and Joey Logano.

Lap 34 -- Jimmie Johnson is on pit road but doesn't appear to have any damage. He rolls off with fresh tires.

Lap 33 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 3: Jimmie Johnson gets too loose and spins through traffic with a flat tire.

Lap 32 -- Jimmie Johnson and Chad Knaus debate taking four tires. Joey Logano is closing on Kyle Busch for the lead.

Lap 30 -- LEAD CHANGE: Kyle Busch continues to be fast, passes Jeff Gordon and takes the lead again. Jimmie Johnson took four tires on pit road and is racing in 23rd.

Lap 28 -- GREEN FLAG: Jeff Gordon leads the field as Michael McDowell loses the second spot quickly. Joey Logano finds the second spot and Mart Truex Jr. rounds out the top five.

Lap 27 -- LEAD CHANGE: As the field resets after pit stops, Jeff Gordon is credited with the lead.

Lap 25 -- Paul Menard pits with a tight car, takes two tires. Mark Martin takes right-side tires. Carl Edwards and Tony Stewart just miss each other getting into their pits. Most other cars are taking two tires.

Lap 24 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 2: Kurt Busch gets loose and goes spinning. The No. 2 is headed for pit road.

Lap 22 -- Jimmie Johnson reports his confidence in the No. 48 is growing after rough practice sessions earlier in the week.

Lap 21 -- Kyle Busch continues to find clean air and widens his lead over Paul Menard.

Lap 19 -- Jimmie Johnson has dropped five spots and is running in 15th. Mark Martin rounds out the top five and is tracking down Carl Edwards for fourth.

Lap 17 -- David Reutimann has moved up six spots since the start of the race and rounds out the top 10 during early laps at Charlotte.

Lap 15 -- Paul Menard passes Jeff Gordon for second as Kyle Busch opens up a 1.7-second lead.

Lap 13 -- Ryan Newman is in the garage as crew members cut and patch the No. 39.

Lap 12 -- Joey Logano is working the throttle and trying to pass A.J. Allmendinger on the inside for seventh.

Lap 11 -- Paul Menard moves up two spots and into third.

Lap 9 -- LEAD CHANGE: Kyle Busch has no problems passing Carl Edwards for the lead. Jeff Gordon finds the second spot and holds off Carl Edwards through Turn 3.

Lap 8 -- LEAD CHANGE: Carl Edwards takes the lead as Kyle Busch begins a charge toward the front.

Lap 7 -- GREEN FLAG: Jeff Gordon leads the field on the restart. Tony Stewart heads back to green in 41st.

Lap 5 -- Ryan Newman is still doing damage control and trying to stay on the lead lap after a second trip to pit road. Tony Stewart has some damage as well and is back on pit road.

Lap 4 -- Jeff Gordon will lead the field to green on the restart, followed by Carl Edwards, Mark Martin, Kyle Busch and A.J. Allmendinger.

Lap 2 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 1: Ryan Newman gets loose in Turn 3 and finds the wall. Denny Hamlin is joined by several others on pit road.

Lap 1 -- Jeff Gordon gets off to a good start on the outside and leads the first lap.

7:48 p.m. -- GREEN FLAG: Jeff Gordon leads the cars to the start of the Bank of America 500.

7:41 p.m. -- The cars are on the track for warm-up laps.

7:38 p.m. -- NASCAR Hall of Fame inductees give the command: "Gentlemen, start your engines!"

7:31 p.m. -- Danielle Peck performs the national anthem.

7:30 p.m. -- Invocation by Joe Gibbs.

7 p.m. -- NASCAR Countdown is under way on ABC.

5:25 p.m. ET -- It's currently 71 degrees under sunny skies at Charlotte Motor Speedway as the Cup Series prepares for the Bank of America 500. There is little chance for precipitation as temperatures are expected to dip into the low 40s later this evening. Jeff Gordon and Carl Edwards will start on the front row when the green flag flies at 7:46 p.m. ET.
