How do I listen or watch?

In order for you to enjoy our audio and video programming, you'll need to have special software called a "player" loaded on your computer. The player software does all the work of taking the audio and video from the NASCAR.com site and translating it into a format that you can hear and watch on your computer.

This technology is called streaming audio and video. We use one streaming technology to deliver programming to you. The RealPlayer is from RealNetworks. If you are using Internet Explorer, Netscape or another browser, you will need to get the RealPlayer by RealNetworks. Don't worry, the player is free. If you already have it, you are ready to listen to or view any content on NASCAR.com. If you are not sure, Click Here to test for the RealPlayer.

If a small window pops up and you hear audio, you already have the RealPlayer. If your browser warns you that you don't have a necessary plug-in or helper application, then you will need to download the RealPlayer.

To download the RealPlayer 8 Basic release for a PC, go to the download site and follow these steps:

  1. Click the RealPlayer 8 Basic is our free player link.
  2. Fill out the information required and choose your operating system, language, and internet connection from the pull-down menus, then press the Download FREE Real Player 8 Basic button.
  3. Select the free version of the RealPlayer 8 basic that you prefer (depending upon your OS, you may have several choices) and click on the Download FREE RealPlayer 8 Basic button.
  4. Select the location nearest to you.
  5. When you are prompted to save the file from the File Download window, select Save the program to disk.
  6. In the Save As window, save the file to your Desktop. Do not change the name of the file, and make note of the name as you'll need to find the file after it's downloaded.
  7. Click the Save button. The download time will vary, depending upon the speed and quality of your internet connection.
  8. Once the download is complete, you are ready to install the Player. Close all applications before proceeding with the player installation.
  9. The file you saved is located on your Desktop. Locate the file and double-click it to activate the installation.
  10. Follow the prompts to install the player.
