STAFFORD, Conn. – Mike Stefanik tied the all-time NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour record for career Coors Light Pole Awards Saturday afternoon as he turned in the fast time in qualifying for the CARQUEST Fall Final at Stafford Motor Speedway.

Qualifying: Ickler Sets Stafford Record To Earn Pole For Fall Final

STAFFORD SPRINGS, Conn. – Brian Ickler established a track record in Coors Light Pole Award qualifying at Stafford Motor Speedway Saturday afternoon.

Ickler (No. 15 Ickler Motorsports Chevrolet) lapped the .500-mile oval in 19.376 seconds, for an average speed of 92.898 mph, in qualifiying for Sunday's CARQUEST Fall Final 150. It was the second pole award of the season for the 23-year-old from San Diego, Calif.

Drive for Diversity To Host 25 Candidates At Combine

Twenty-five drivers from different forms of racing all over North America  will showcase their skills in front of NASCAR team owners and executives at the sixth annual Drive for Diversity Testing & Evaluation Combine presented by Sunoco. The scouting event will take place October 13–14 at South Boston Speedway in South Boston, Va. This year’s candidates were selected from more than 200 applicants from across North America.  Fourteen of the drivers will earn a ride in NASCAR’s developmental series for the 2009 season.
