Donny Reuvers is no stranger to short-track honors in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series.
The Dundas, Minn., driver is a former regional champion in NASCAR’s weekly series. In 2008, he earned his fourth consecutive Super Late Model championship at Elko Speedway and captured his second straight NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Minnesota state championship. Recently, Reuvers’ achievements were recognized by Governor Tim Pawlenty in a visit to the state capitol in St. Paul.

Despite only running a handful of races between them this season in the NASCAR Camping World Series West, Todd Souza and Jason Fensler were each able to lock up a coveted spot in the NASCAR Toyota All-Star Showdown. The annual postseason event, considered the ‘Daytona 500 of short-track racing,’ is slated for Jan. 23-24, 2009 at Toyota Speedway at Irwindale (Calif.).

Jason Bowles entered the 2008 season as possibly the hottest driver in the NASCAR Camping World Series West on a road course. This year, however, the 26-year-old competitor from Ontario, Calif., demonstrated what he could also accomplish on an oval track by sweeping both races on his home track of Toyota Speedway at Irwindale (Calif.) and closing out the season with a victory at All American Speedway in Roseville, Calif.

Eric Holmes became the first driver to win a NASCAR Camping World Series race in a Toyota, and the first driver to win a NASCAR Camping World Series championship in a Toyota. Now he would like to become the first driver to win the NASCAR Toyota All-Star Showdown in a Toyota.
“I think that would be a great match to win the Toyota All-Star Showdown at Toyota Speedway in a Toyota Camry,” said Holmes. “I think there’ll be a little pressure from Toyota on us to go there and try to win the race.”
