If you're heading to southern Fontana for a race, here are some tips to ensure a smooth trip:

The Metrolink trainline will be stopping regular service trains on Friday and Saturday. The San Bernardino Line operates between San Bernardino and Los Angeles on Fridays and between Riverside-San Bernardino and Los Angeles on Saturdays. There will be a special schedule on Sunday.

Parking and camping

All ticketed guests will have a parking pass to enter the speedway property. The color of the parking pass corresponds with the entry gate and the designated parking lot. Each pass offers a route, with a printed map for freeway and surface streets to the track.

The color of the pass determines the gate that guests must enter and the freeway/surface route that they must take to the facility. For example, a blue parking pass holder may only enter California Speedway at Gate 3.

Guests who would like to tailgate are encouraged to use grass areas around the parking lots. Guests may only use the area directly in front of or behind their vehicle for tailgating, taking into account that they may not prohibit the flow of traffic. Guests will not be allowed to use an additional parking space for tailgating. No open campfires or barrel fires are allowed in the parking areas.

What to bring

• One soft-sided bag/cooler, no larger than 6 x 6 x 12 inches. The soft-sided insulated cooler may contain ice. Other examples: a scanner bag, a fanny pack, a purse, a diaper bag, or a binocular bag.

• One clear plastic bag, no larger than 18 x 18 x 4 inches, to accommodate samples received and purchases made after fans have parked their cars. Clear plastic bags may not contain ice.

• Binoculars, scanners, headsets, cameras, not in a bag, worn separately over the neck or on the belt and seat cushions carried separately are also allowed.

• Seat cushion bags with compartments will be reviewed on an individual basis.

All items brought through a grandstand gate will be inspected. Glass, aluminum and metal containers are not allowed.

There is no smoking in the grandstands. California Speedway will offer clearly marked "smoking areas" away from the seating area.
