Tailgating: Homestead

Getting there

There is one way in and out of Homestead-Miami: The Florida Turnpike. Get to the speedway early and hang out afterwards tailgating.

From the north: Take the Florida Turnpike to Exit 6 (Speedway Blvd.). Continue east approximately 3 miles to main entrance.

From the south: Take U.S. 1 to Palm Drive. Continue east for 2.5 miles. Turn left on SW 142nd Ave.

What to bring

Fans are allowed to bring into the grandstands:

• one soft-sided bag or cooler, no larger than 6 x 6 x 12 inches.

• one clear plastic souvenir bag, no larger than 18 x 18 x 4 inches. This bag cannot contain ice.

Fans are only allowed to bring in one of each of the bags described above and those bags are subject to inspection by security. No large backpacks, large bags and/or large camera bags will be allowed through the admission gates.

No ice, other than ice contained in a soft-sided cooler, will be allowed through the admission gates. No glass containers/bottles of any kind are allowed.

Sunscreen and a hat are very important at Homestead. The sun beats on the grandstands all day.

Parking and camping

Parking on Homestead-Miami Speedway property is free. Overnight parking/camping is not permitted. Overnight or improperly parked vehicles are subject to being towed. Parking lot gates open at 6:30 a.m. on race weekends and close daily.

Recreational vehicle parking spaces are offered at the Palm Drive RV Lot located on the south side of the track. RV parking can be paid for prior to or during race weekends, depending on availability. The Palm Drive RV Lot opens Wednesday, Nov. 16 at 9 a.m. and closes Monday, Nov. 20 at noon.

There are no private parking or camping areas within walking distance of the speedway, however, there are camping areas within 5 to 20 miles.
