IOWA SPEEDWAY
Designed with influence from former Cup Series champion Rusty Wallace, Iowa Speedway is a state-of-the-art 7/8 mile asphalt paved tri-oval track located in Newton, Iowa, 30 miles east of Des Moines.
The track was patterned after Richmond International Raceway, a short track where Wallace was very successful during his career as a driver.
Getting There
From the North: Take I-35 south to I-80 east toward Davenport. Take the Iowa Speedway Dr. exit 168 and follow the signs.
From Des Moines: Take I-80 east to Iowa Speedway Dr. exit 168 and follow the signs.
Traffic conditions may cause Rusty Wallace Dr. to be closed to event traffic. All traffic will then be diverted south on Iowa Speedway Dr. to the appropriate credentialed and non-credentialed parking lots. Please follow all traffic control instructions and arrive at Iowa Speedway two hours prior to race time.
Note: Infield, media, credentials office, ADA, and general parking vehicles must be in left lanes and proceed south down Iowa Speedway Drive.
What to Bring
All carry-in bags, blankets, sleeping bags and similar items are subject to search by Iowa Speedway when entering the facility. Prohibited items or contraband discovered during security inspections must be returned to the owner’s vehicle or discarded.
Parking and Camping
Tailgating is permitted in all parking lots but must be contained to one parking space per vehicle; reserving parking spaces is prohibited.
Iowa Speedway has two lots for bus parking. For reserved parking, please call 866-787-8946. Non-reserved bus parking is located in the South parking lot along the inner road.
ADA parking is located outside the main entrance to the grandstands. Please display your state-issued permit in the window of your vehicle. Spaces are not reserved and are assigned on a first-come, first-serve basis.
General camping is located just north of the speedway across Rusty Wallace Dr. All spaces are primitive and have no water or electric hookups.
Reserved spaces are for commercially built motor homes or travel trailers. Tent camping is only allowed in the designated tent camping area and cannot be reserved in advance.
Tent camping is $50 per race weekend.
