Getting there

The speedway is located in Loudon, N.H., on Route 106, about 10 miles north of Concord, N.H.

From Boston: Travel I-93 North to Exit 15E (Concord, N.H.), which is I-393. Take I-393 East to Exit 3. Turn left at the light onto Route 106 North. The speedway is 9 miles ahead on right.

From Hartford, Conn.: Take I-84 North to I-90 East in Massachusetts. Follow I-90 East to I-495 North, then I-93 North. Take I-93 North to Exit 15E (Concord, N.H.), which is I-393. Take I-393 East to Exit 3. Turn left at the light onto Route 106 North. The speedway is 9 miles ahead on right.

From New York: I-95 North to I-91 North (New Haven, Conn.) Take I-91 North to I-84 East (Hartford, Conn.) Follow I-84 East to I-90 East (Sturbridge, Mass.), then I-495 North. Take I-495 North to I-93 North (or Route 3, Everett Turnpike, a toll road.) I-93 North to Exit 15E (Concord, N.H.), which is I-393. Take I-393 East to Exit 3. Turn left at the light onto Route 106 North. The speedway is 9 miles ahead on right.

From Burlington, Vt.: Take I-89 South to I-93 North. Take I-93 to Exit 15E (Concord, N.H.) which is I-393. Take I-393 East to Exit 3. Turn left at the light onto Route 106 North. The speedway is 9 miles ahead on right.

From Maine: Take I-95 South to Route 4 West. Follow Route 4 and make a right on Route 106 North. The speedway is 9 miles ahead on right.

It is better to come into the track and leave from the track from the north end (Turns 3 and 4). Fans have e-mailed me to tell me that they were able to leave the track and get home to the Seacoast in 45 minutes. This was, of course, after tailgating for about two hours after the end of the race. Plan well because all paths lead to Route 106.

What to bring

Fans can bring into the grandstands at New Hampshire: a cooler, a bag scanner bag and/or backpack. All coolers, bags and backpacks will be subject to searches. Coolers may be either soft- or hard-sided and must be 14 inches or less in all dimensions.

Please note: In New Hampshire, hard liquor is only sold at state liquor stores, while beer and wine are sold at convenience stores and grocery stores. There are restrictions on Sunday sales of alcohol.

Parking and camping

Speedway Parking: New Hampshire International Speedway offers guests more than 400 acres of free parking for cars and self-contained recreational vehicles.

Speedway Camping: Speedway camping is $100 in advance and $125 at the gate. The lots will remain open 24 hours a day throughout the race events. The spots are 16 feet x 30 feet in a rocky gravel parking lot with no extra amenities. All RV drivers and their guests must have race day tickets in their possession before driving onto NHIS property. Persons without race day tickets will not be allowed onto the property. Tents are not allowed on speedway property.

Private camping and parking: There are a number of parking fields with free shuttle service (every 15 or 20 minutes) between Mudgett Hill Road and Asby Road. There is also parking on Hollow Route Road between Route 106 and Mudgett Hill Road. After looking at some of the map services I use, I see there is private land on Gil Rodgers Highway (both sides) and right on Highway 106 that looks closer than much of the speedway parking. Also, there is camping and parking just north of the track on 140.

Inbound thru traffic is not allowed from the back side of Asby Road (coming through Canterbury) toward the track. However, if you can show a printed pass from a resident parking and/or camping vendor, they will let you enter to access these lots. But they will not let you take Asby Road all the way to the track
