En route to Wednesday’s ESPY Awards at 9 p.m. ET on ESPN in Los Angeles, Danica Patrick took a seat on Jay Leno’s couch on Tuesday’s “Tonight Show.”
During the interview on the popular NBC late-night program, she told Leno that she had to sleep on a couch after wrecking boyfriend and fellow Sunoco Rookie of the Year contender Ricky Stenhouse Jr. in Sunday’s Camping World RV Sales 301 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. See below:
“I did sleep on the couch that night,” Patrick told Leno. When he asked what it’s like to race Stenhouse, she said, “I just need to give him more space.”
Leno also asked about Kyle Petty’s comments last month about Patrick and whether she had seen him since his remarks.
“He hasn’t come over to borrow a scrunchy anytime lately,” she said.

Patrick also demonstrated her strong grip, taught to her by her father who told her to "shake like you meant it."
