There are 19 days left before the Feb. 24, 2013 Daytona 500; hence, today’s number is: 19.
The number of career NASCAR Sprint Cup Series victories posted thus far by Dale Earnhardt Jr., Carl Edwards and Kevin Harvick, who are tied with former drivers Fonty Flock, Buddy Baker and Davey Allison for 37th on the all-time win list. That could make the Daytona 500 an intense contest to see which driver is first to the 20-victory plateau. Edwards had a second place finish in the 500 in 2011 and won the pole for the 2012 race. Harvick won the season opener in 2007. Earnhardt won the Daytona 500 in 2004 and finished second in 2010 and 2012. The bottom line? All three drivers have their plate-track acts together.
